Q: Can I use an alternative payment method (i.e. PayPal, Google Checkout, etc.) when I purchase from the Store and still get my cashback savings? A: We can't guarantee that your purchase will be reported to us correctly if you use an alternative payment method. We're always looking to improve our service and will continue to work to support other alternative payment methods in the future.
Has anyone had problems with that before?

I just ordered it to replace my aging Minolta 2300...
I went through the search.live.com link to Officemax, then used paypal (also signed up for maxrewards for the gas card). During checkout, I was notified about the $50 paypal rebate, but no mention of the live.com rebate. I bought it anyway thinking still a good deal, then a few hours later, I got the email from microsoft saying to claim my $12, so as long as the paypal rebate and the gas card comes through... Net cost to me will be $123 (had to pay tax).

So thanks OP, was going to cost me more than that to refill my black toner and replace the drum on my old 4ppm networked minolta.

Edit: Forgot to mention that I should get $20 in reward money to spend for using the maxrewards also (according to the terms). Brings net price down to $103 if that's the case.

I own this printer, My only gripe there is no duplex. But for this price, who cares.
Other than that it's a great bargain color laser.

After reading the specs and reviews, this is one hot deal. I bit, says "delayed shipping". Hopefully not too delayed. Incredible deal with the above mentioned Max Perks additional $20 reward cash.

Now my epson inkjet will only be used to print CDs/DVDs. (Photos print @ Costco, can't match the price/print or quality @ home)

Consider it free paper for your new printer?

I hope this isn't an intentional delay because they don't like the half off thing running with the paypal rebate + gas card.

My payment processed on PayPal for the full amount today (No mention of the 25% off). Did this happen to everyone else?

I believe the paypal offer expired. I will update the thread to reflect it's demise.

Will it take a duplex accessory? I have a 5250-DN, wonder if the duplex attachment in there would transplant...

I picked up this guy instead. I just need to print b/w for school papers and the like and my canon ink jet just went out on me. Got $4.50 back from Live, and signed up for the $30 gas card deal. If it all goes though, its a pretty sweet deal.

I thought I remember it saying something about getting the 25% back later on (4 to 6 weeks or something like that).

Yay I received my printer yesterday. I ordered it when the paypal promo was still going, but does anyone know how you claim it or even see that you were eligible for it? I know it's supposed to take a month but there's no indication that it's even coming so I'm a little peeved.

Been almost 4 weeks and still nothing is showing up for the paypal bonus. And it looks like MS Live Cashback is a no-go either. From MS Live cashback FAQ:

Q: Can I use an alternative payment method (i.e. PayPal, Google Checkout, etc.) when I purchase from the Store and still get my cashback savings?
A: We can't guarantee that your purchase will be reported to us correctly if you use an alternative payment method. We're always looking to improve our service and will continue to work to support other alternative payment methods in the future.

And nothing is showing up in my officemax maxperks account page about the gas card either.

Hopefully the paypal bonus gets processed soon. Otherwise this hot deal ain't so hot...

Just checked my paypal account and saw a credit for $50 (25% of $200) from officemax. Deal is hot after all. Thanks OP.

Yeah, I just got my $50 too for my purchase made on 8/25. The net price ended up being $135 + tax or so after the Live Cashback ($15) and Paypal refund ($50).

The printer has worked great too so far.
