But what the hell is this "02/06/2003 09:05 Package not due for delivery"?

They have my case in the FedEx warehouse near my house but won't deliver until a couple days later (FedEx saver shipping typically takes 3-5 days)?

Hope not. Otherwise I'd go there and pick it up myself.

What that means is that the package arrived at the shipping center too late for them to put it on a courier. You should get the package delivered tomorrow.

Anyone know if these cases have fans on the window like the picture or it's just a bare window?

Kidfuzion,

That's 9:05 am man. I posted the reply at around noon today.

I called FedEx and they said that the package arrived "early" so it is not scheduled for delivery until its original scheduled delivery date (don't know when but FedEx Saver is around 3-5 days).

Well...hopefully I'll get it tomorrow. Can't even go to the FedEx facility (where the case is at right now) to pick it up. They won't allow that.

I received my case a couple days ago and was impressed in the turn around time from original order day. Though if I remember correctly their ad stated that the case shipped with 4 case fans. I only received 2 fans and I have to call their RMA dept for more information. Anyone had this same thing happen?

Ordered black case with window, no ps.

Mine came with 2 fans, one in the back and 1 on the window.
They changed the verbage on the web site to say that 2 case fans are included
My original order, placed 2 weeks ago, seems to indicate that it should have
come with 4 fans, but since I got the free power supply, I wasn't going to complain.

Since the fans contain 4 LEDs, I think this was more of a listing problem on their
web site than an order messup.

On another issue, I am downgrading my opinion of the PSU. I physically removed the supply this morning to thoroughly inspect it. Expected this to be merely a rebadged Channel Well Technology PSU which are pretty decent quality. A 420W supply should have a little heft due to capacitors and heatsinks even if it is a switching PSU. Well, it may be a CWT but it is definitely a budget $20 PSU. Unfinished sheet metal and very light. My recommendation now is to purchase the case w/o the Turbolink and spend an extra $20-$25 for a lower watt rated Enermax or Antec but much better quality.

I put the TurboLink that came in the case by accident in my stepson's rig which had the Antec SL300S. With the Antec, the comp would reboot for no reason, and would freeze when playing CS. With the TurboLink in there, all those problems disappear. Also, the comp now start and reboot a lot faster. My 2 cents.

Ordered mine on 2/4 and it shipped yesterday. I'm hoping to get some of the "free" upgrades also. Guess its good I ordered mine then because the extra charge for colors.

I got the black case with no upgrades.

Back to $35, but for white/beige only. Other colors are $5 more and blue is $10 more. Only two regular fans with it now too.

You should just call them up and tell them you want to pick it up. It was the same on mine. It said Package not due for delivery so I just called them up and asked if I could pick it up. The CSR at the 800 number sent the FedEx place a note and they called me and said I could pick it up if I wanted to. I would recommend that you call them if it doesn't say "Out for Delivery" and ask them to pick it up instead. I got a free window with my order.

They have since updated the webpage to only 2 fans but when I ordered mine it did say 4 fans. I called their RMA department today and they said no problem they would send out the 2 other fans. So for those of you who ordered earlier (before they changed their ad verbage) you could probably get your two other fans if you were shorted.

Blue cases appear to be back in stock. Mine (previously backordered, clear window, no PSU) was shipped today. We'll see what I get.

What quality are the case fans? Loud?

What about he upgrade fans with LEDs. Any good?

Will these fans handle an overclocked XP2100?

I just got mine, Black with a window just as I had ordered it. Had kinda hoped to recieve it with a free psu like some others did, but oh well. I'm in So. Cal, and although had heard of bad experiences with this company before, I found their shipping to be very fast at least, ordered at night, shipped the next morning, at my door the day after that.

Since the fans contain 4 LEDs, I think this was more of a listing problem on their website than...
To their credit, no argument at all and agreed to ship out the extra fans...now we'll see if they really ship. This would be a very convenient thing to "not do". Especially if it was a listing error.

put the TurboLink that came in the case by accident in my stepson's rig which had the Antec SL300S. With the Antec, the comp would reboot for no reason, and would freeze when playing CS. With the TurboLink in there, all those problems disappear. Also, the comp now start and reboot a lot faster. My 2 cents.
Well, there is quite a bit of difference in output between a 300W PSU and rated "420W PSU" so could be why your stepson's system simply needed that extra "oomph" to get going. Not certain of the 3.3 and 5.0 volt rails on that PSU but many 300W PSU simply don't cut it anymore if you have a power hungry processor and graphics card.

My concern is longevity and clean power. There is simply no way that you can get these two qualities out of lightweight PSU, especially one rated at 420W. When you combine the weight of the necessary transistors/capacitors and heatsink, it adds up. It's either going to run hot or it will not be able to supply stable current. I have also an Antec SL400 which I picked up on sale at CompUSA for $40 a few months ago. There is no comparison in quality between it and the Turbolink.

My thinking is that I would rather take a quality 350W supply than a cheaply made 420W. Enermax puts out a 350W supply for around $45 that is rock solid. The Antec TruPower series are another example...actually the TruPower are slightly underspec'd, meaning some other manufacturer would probably call it a 350 or slightly higher.

All I'm saying is that unless you are in a pinch and can't spare the extra $, I would recommend all to pass on this PSU. The Turbolink that I rec'd is not a bargain...it's just a $20 PSU.

Re the Turbolink, was curious so did some poking around and found this at Viperlair
While we are on the topic of power supplies, the 420-Watt Turbolink power supply that comes with the Nitro Elite is merely okay. While the included power supply didn't appear to cause any stability issues, there were occasional voltage spikes, especially on the +5 volt line. I didn't trust the power supply to run my machine and promptly swapped it out for a Fortron Source unit provided by The Coolerguys. That isn't to say that the included power supply won't work for you, but the voltage spikes indicate that the included unit may not be the best solution when it comes to powering your machine

Their turbolink PSU is excellent, I bought it with the case and it is quite, stable, with sufficient nmber of connectors and their length. My Thunderbird is oc'ed 1600 to 2000+, Geforce3 Ti200, multiple case fans (6), two raid sets, one non-raid hdd, dvd-rw, cdrw, zip, floppy, tv tuner - I didnt have a crash ever. Of cause it is not just power supply (gigabit board is what I attribute this stability to), but the PSU didnt introduce any problems.

I hear this argument over and over again about quality PSU. I have a 420W that I paid 20$ _shipping for. I've had it for over a year running and athlon xp 1700+ with 2 hard drives, a dvd drive, a cdrw drive and all the PCI cards I have, plust multiple USB powered devices.

It is light

It doesnt run hot

It's also been reliable. I have not had one problem with it. The same PSU is in 3 of my friends systems, and they also have not had any problem with it. I guess my point is, I don't buy it that a light PSU = a bad PSU. The ratings on the 3.3v and 5v are more than adequate.

Hey, I'm happy for you, then. I'm not saying that it is a bad PSU, either. All I'm saying is that the Turbolink is not a bargain as I had originally thought and cannot recommend it to others on this forum. It's just a $20 PSU, no more, no less. And knowing now what I do, wish I had saved my money and not included it with the case.

I can say that I'm not too trusting of light power supplies. I had a 425W PSU (can't remember the brand) but it was quite light. I would try overclocking my system from an Athlon XP 1900+ to a 2000+ and had stability problems.

I couldn't run anything that would need a lot of power or my system would reboot, even from running 3dMark 2001SE.

After I upgraded to my Antec TruePower 480 PSU, I had no more unexpected rebooting or anything. I love the quality of TruePower, and its quite a bit heavier than my old PSU.
