The rebate is processed by the same company that does the rebates for Staples. I have read two post from people who did a CenDyne 24x rebate deal in Jan. and both say they received their check in 7 to 8 weeks.

Either the on-line reciept or the packing slip will work, I always send in the packing slip and have never had a problem receiving the rebate.

I noticed the rebate goes to McAllen Tx. Anyoneknow if these guys are reliable and fast or not?

The company is Parago.Staples uses them and they have been very reliable and fast.

Hey I bought this drive yesterday which is 3/16. Since i does says on the rabate that u can buy this drive anytime between 3/3 and 3/31.

But the one i got was a Acer. and i dont trust them at all. So i was going to return the drive. but at the office max in Kennesaw, Georgia i ask for the guy to check and see if they are any drives with the 12 digit serial number and the guy found one for me... right besides the serial number it also says SmartBurn technology.

So ask the sales guy to have a look at all your drives so that you might find the fable Lite-on... I will not trust an Acer at all.

Acer is one of those funny companies much like IBM. Their computers suck, but they make good components. Still.. I will be shooting for a Liteon. I got one the last two times, so I don't see why I won't get another. Maybe it's a regional thing?

Man.. This thing is cheap. Why would anyone want to buy a 8x burner at this point when they can have a 24x for such little $$?

You might try ordering the drive by phone (800-283-7674. choose option #1 SKU#20076846) and see if you can get one delivered sooner that way since they can have it delivered from a warehouse in a different location, then you could cancel your on-line backorder.

Thanks, I went to the store to try and use an online coupon but the manager pretty much laughed at me. I'm glad they put it on their website. I just ordered two. One for me and one for the computer I'm building for my gf. $41 shipped each AR. Plus, the OM in my area only had the lite-ons in stock.

The non-returnable comes up when you add it to your shopping card and check out.

Also, last time I had to return something I ordered from officemax.com (quicken software), they didnt accept it in the store, they had to send someone out to pick it up from my house. So you might be out of luck there

If you read the rest of the thread you can see that some people are getting store managers to take online coupons. I wasn't so lucky, but I did get in when they were on the website.

Thanks picked up a Lite-on from B&M, thanks mysticman for the deal and the tip on the serial numbers.

Yeah they took the printed online coupon. The rebate rect shows the price as 99.99 so the rebate is 100% good.

I ordered a polaroid online last week and told my sister to do and exchange, but they wouldn't let her (they need MY credit card).
So she bought it for $99.

Do you think I can still exchange it, since she couldn't get the $25 off.
I was thinking, return the Cendyne and exchange Polaroid for the *just* returned Cendyne in the same transaction.
Think they'll do it for me?

seems reasonable as long as the Cendyne was not bought with her credit card also(unless she is going with you to make the exchange)

The CenDyne 24x10x40 drive is off the web site (out of stock for now). So, What you can do is print-out the page with a $25 off $100 coupon on it, and take that to your local store, and tell your one of those friendly OfficeMax manages that you were going to buy the drive on-line, but they were out of stock and would he honor the $25 coupon, so you can purchase the drive from him. This has worked before, for a number of poeple, but it up the to manage to decide to honor the $25 coupon or not.

Also you can try calling in your order (they can check all the OM warehouses), at 800-283-7674. option 1, (SKU#20076846) use a $25 off $10 coupon code to receive the $25 discount (off your first order). If you are asked where you got the coupon code, say you received it in the mail from OfficeMax.
