<< I did some advanced scouting in my area at Office Max for the Cendyne 32x burners. They appear to be the rebadged Verbatims, because they have a 12 digit all numeric Serial Number AND they don't say Smart Burn next to the SN, just something like buffer underun technology on the front of the box. The question is.........Do I keep the 24x which is a rebadged ACER or do I return it and spend the $15-$20 more and get the 32x which is probably a Verbatim? Any thoughts? >>
If you were to read the thoughts people shared in the 24x thread, you'd spend the extra money on the Lite-On. I haven't had any personally experience with Acer CD-RW drives so I can't comment on them. I avoided them specifically because of comments in that thread, and others like it. I've always been a Plextor fan, but highly rated sub $40 24x burner for this week and sub $60 32x burner for next week, I couldn't justify buying another plextor. I bought two 24x Lite-On's.
