Wb114.....(show coupon to driver? but OfficeMax has always delivered it via UPS to me)

That's OfficeMax's problem, as long as they take the $25 when you first order you should be OK.

<< Actually, The serial number begins with "CR-480ATE......." which is the Mitsumi model number.

If it quacks like a duck...

>>

itsa duck...Mitsumi..comes with a Mitsumi branded(tied to drive) Nero 5. Did get the Spin X spindle of 100 CDRs with this drive and grabbed the cheesy CyberAcoustics ($9.99-$9.00 MIR) to get me to over the $150 mark after applying a $30 off $150 coupon(ya know the competition in the bright red-fronted office superstore ..think metal clipping items for sheafs of paper) total $136 w/tax -$69 = $67

If you need the retail version PM me.

Also that Staples printable $30 off $150 is a good idea for those people who were turn down in the store on the OM $25 off coupon, except for having to deal with the extra rebates.

Everything went great for me here in Rochester. I printed out the $25 off $100 coupon that expires on 4/28 and took it in to the store. They seemed to have plenty of both the 32x and 24x Cendyne drives left, and both appeared to be Lite-Ons (12 digit serial). I figured I'd just get the 32x since it was only $10 more, so I just took it to the checkout with my $25 off coupon and asked if they would honor it in store. The checkout girl said no problem and gave me the $25 discount, so I got the drive for $91, and the form for $30 MIR to bring the total to $61. The drive is labeled as a Lite-On Model LTR-32123S.

Edit: if I'd realized that the rebate on the 24x was for $40 not $30 I would have bought that instead and saved $20, oh well.

I was her 12th...she knew what I wanted. LOL!

I was her 11th... She even rememberd the SKU number of the drive, when I called.

She asked me where I got my coupon code though, I had to come up with something quick so I said it was mailed to me, and she placed my order. She also asked if I wanted to add on the $7 AR 100-pack CD-Rs so I went ahead.

We must call the same CSR. When I called, she asked me the same question, where did I get the coupon, also tried to push a case of laser paper to me. After she got the CDRW drive, she asked me if I wanted to add the CD-R. I said "Thank you! Not this time!" Actually, I just came back from CircuitCity with two spindle of Fuji.

I went in to the local officemax and found a 12 digit serial 32x Cendyne on the shelf. Asked one of the workers if they'd allow me to exchange a the 24x drive (an Acer) that I got last week online. He told me it shouldn't be a problem at all. They wouldn't let me take the drive on the shelf and went to the back to get one. I told him to get one with a 12 digit serial, but he brought out a Mitsumi serial #. I walked back to the shelf and grabbed the other one after exchanging and it was a Lite-On. I had no problem at all getting the $25 off at the register either.

The OfficeMax people were very nice about giving the rebate and allowing me to exchange an already open drive.

I just ordered mine fine. One of the first things I said was that I had recieved a coupon in the mail. Then he asked the number on it and i gave it and he said ok let me check. So i shot the Sh1t about how bad my hangover was blah, blah, blah. He said the coupon was good and then I gave him my name then the item then cc# and i should have it on the 25th, or 26th. Nothing mentioned about checking the coupon on delivery or anything. Most of these people dont like their jobs to much i would imagine. so if you are nice to them and make the call a bit more personal you will get better results. ctalgo

Printed out the 25/100 coupon , (changed the "exclusive to officemax.com" to "exlusive to OfficeMax" though :/ ), the manager rang it up with no probs, and I got a 32x lite-on (called earlier to make sure they had one with a 12 digit , all-numbers serial number...it was like 201608001346 or something). Thanks! Now just to wait another 10-12 weeks for the rebate

I got a Verbatim.
I checked the serial # on the box & its 12 digits.
Is this any good? there are no reviews on this drive anywhere yet.
It says on the box "BurnProtection Technology"
Just burned my first copyrighted CD, it took 28Mins. to do. Why?
I couldnt copy same CD with HP 9350
Which drive is better? LiteOn or Verbatim or it doesnt make any difference?
Can Folks who got & kept their Verbatims post their experiences? & if you returned it, Why?
Do you think I should keep this one?
I will burn "Thank You notes" & send them to you ;-)

spankyOO7.....(so it's true that OM will accept printable staples coupons? )

yes! it's true.

Copied from OfficeMax web site :

(Do you honor competitor coupons?

In addition, OfficeMax.com will honor coupons from other office product superstores. Please call 1-800-283-7674 for complete details.

Here's a idea I heard about from ScrapSilicon.
Use the staples $30 off $150 printable coupon at OfficeMax stores to buy the CenDyne 32x drive $109.99, 100 pack Spin-X CDRs $36.99 =$147 add a $3 item to reach $150 total. - $30 CenDyne 32x rebate - $30 CDRs rebate - $30 off $150 coupon = final cost $59.97
Or add the cheesy CyberAcoustics 3pc speakers (# 14272547) free after $10 rebate = final cost $56.97

Hey
BigRigDriver & nerdherd
I think everyone was saying the "24x" verbatim were the same
as a Lite-on 24x.
I don't know if this holds true for a 32x though.
Compare the specs & model #'s with a Lite-on 32x.
YMMV
