MysticMan...
thanks for the response....my order came back as delivery in 1 day (tomorrow). Just hoping that it doesn't stay in the 'processing' mode for days....weeks....etc.
regards,
wumpus....

Does anybody know why the Pioneer, Verbatim and Memorex DVD-RW media are twice as expensive as Ritek's? Is Ritek media just as good as these others?

In other threads some people claim the cheaper DVD-R's (like Ritek) do not have the longevity of more expensive media, something to do with the reflectivity of the disc or the alignment of the moon and stars or something......

I just got mine today and had a question about the rebate.

The info on Staples says the follwoing:

1. All fields filled out. 2. The sales receipt with CenDyne Product listed. 3. The original UPC cut from the side of the retail box. 4. The original serial # label cut from the side of the retail box. Photocopies of UPC and serial # will not be accepted. Your request must be postmarked within 15 days of purchase. Offer limited to end-users only.

1. I can fill it out on the website

2. I didn't get the sales receipt, what do i provide, do I print out the order status from the website?

3. Original UPC cut - There is this big sticker on the box, which has the UPC, its not on the box, do I just cut and give that.

4. Original Serial Cut - Again, its on the big sticker on the box, its not on the side of the box or anywhere else, its just on the back on this big white sticker.

help would be appreciated, thanks.

Alright,

I just cut out the UPC and Serial form the big sticker on the box, also I noticed another thing that there was no bottom, I mean you could see the khakhi box. It just had a top, sides, front, back, but no bottom, is that normal.

I filled out the online rebate form on staples, cut the upc and serial from the only place I found it, and included the shipping invoice included (though it said on it this is not an invoice) - I called Staples and they said they use that as their receipt with their rebate partners, sent it with delivery confirmation, hope I didn't miss anything.

Was able to get my order through earlier this afternoon. I also got a confirmation email and called the support line to see if I could pickup the item in my local store as opposed to waiting for delivery (which was confirmed by the phone csr to be monday 2/3) but she wouldn't let me. I even tried calling the store but had no luck either. I read earlier that some ppl had been able to pickup their drive in the store, guess you had an easy manager on duty. Anyhow just hope I get my drive on Monday.

My order went thru this afternoon...got the confirmation email....but order status still shows 'processing'. Delivery date is supposed to be tomorrow. And according to the fabulous inventory countdown provided by **MysticMan1**, there were almost 300 or so still in stock when I placed my order midday.

So if the drive doesn't show up tomorrow, I'm gonna print out my invoice, take it to a local Staples that I know has the drive (but wouldn't accept the online coupon code without an actual invoice), and get one there.

Don't fret.

Like MysticMan1 said, these come around every few weeks.

The Verbatim DVD+R drive is going on sale again Sun at OfficeMax. Will be another 299.99 minus instant 60 with another 40 rebate. Use a 40 or 50 off coupon, and you are down to 150 or so.

Im sure the Cendyne will be back again...just like a bus...

Anyone know how the Verbatim DVD+R drive compares to the Cendyne. Ive been looking into the DVD Burners myself and would like to get one. Does the Verbatim DVD+R drive play/burn both +/- medias? The Cendyne only burns -R but burns at 4X at max speeds? Also Sept1967 so your saying its going to be onsale Sunday for $240.00 using the$60.00 instant reabate then use the $40.00 rebate? Now to see if I can find a printable coupon to take to the store sunday.

Thanks!

Check OfficeMax online for your own towns in store special flyer...

In my town, they show starting Sunday...Verbatim $299.99
with $60 instant rebate and $40 rebate. The flyer shows $199.99 after rebates.

And if you can use another (either online before they yank it) or printable coupon.

The Cendyne was DVD-R/RW only. This one is DVD+R/RW only. The plus or minus are the media standards.

Well I just got the last one in Moscow, Idaho. It said it was OOS online to I went to the B&M and found one left. They had it in a display cabinet, still sealed up. Wasn't sure if it was an empty box just for display or what but it was the last one.

I got it for:

$299
- $50 IR
- $50 MIR
- 30 off 150 printable coupon
+ tax
= $180

Now on to pickup some a 15disc spindle of 2x TDKs with my $40 off $40 coupon from discover!

This Cendyne burner works great. Too bad they only included one blank 1x DVD-RW, I guess the 4x DVD-RW aren't out yet.

I'm looking to buy some Pioneer 2x DVD-RW at hypermicro.com, 5 for $30. Has anybody tried these?

Anyone try one of these in a USB2 Ext. case? I was thinking about trying it with mine... I've already got two drives in my machines that I'd like to keep, 16x Lite On DVDROM and a 32x CDRW. I know the 105 does CDRW, but I'd like to keep it for reading CDs.

Anyone have a bad experience with USB 2.0 and burning discs? I've never really used the USB 2.0 in my system. I've got a Dell DIm. 4500 2.26GHz P4, 2.26GHz, Intel 845E chipset, 1 gig of PC2700 DDR, 100gigs of free space. I can get a USB 2 external case in town for like $54. THink it's worth it?
