I went to 2 Staples B&M today and both refused to PM to Fry's ad of $209, due to Staples 2 day sale on the item. One of them allowed me to PM the difference after rebate ($189 vs $179) which was only $11. Since the rebate is good til 2/22, and Fry's price is good til the 18th, I'm going to PM after the 2day sale.

I managed to get the local staples to price match to Frys with the 5 $ shipping added in. with a 30 off coupon, i got it for 184 before rebate. so after i get the 50 off rebate ill be happy with a 134 4x dvd r- writer. considering that just a short time ago that is what cdrws were going for makes me happy.

thanks for the help on the deals. that extra bit from the frys add really helped.

I've been waiting for a DVD-R deal for some time, $169.00 for a 4x burner makes me a happy camper, thanks again

I don't remember what her name is. I asked her right away if I was able to get a price match and use a coupon, she said no problem. When I gave her the coupon code, she said "It's saying that it's an invalid coupon" and then she asked if I can fax her a copy of the coupon. My guess is that they found out that coupon number was posted online and cut it off. Now they're making people fax in the copy of their coupon so that people who hold actual coupons don't get screwed.

Ordered mine this morning. Phoned in the order, waited for about 10 minutes and talked to the CSR. She was very nice and give me the $239 - $50 off $200 coupon. With tax and free shipping, the out of pocket cost is $202 with a $50 rebate coming. Very nice deal indeed. I was waiting for the Sony dual format to come in stock at the local Bestbuy (the DRU-500AX model vs. DRU-500A) but this is too hot to pass. With the difference, I can even pick up another DVD+R drive as a backup. Thanks!

Time to move on DVD-R, DVD-RW deals.

I ordered mine around 10am PST. It's showing up in my "Order Status" page as "Processing" now...

I noticed that if you search for Cendyne in the Rebates Center, there are two rebates, one says "INTERNAL DVD-R/RW 4X", the other one says "INTERNAL DVD-R/RW"... Unfortunately, both of them require original UPC/Serial #label.

I ordered mine yesterday around 1 pm EST, and its still shows up as processing. Delivery date shows as Thursday, so Im not sure what to expect. Anyone else who's order actually shows something different then processing. Im hoping its not one of those things where Im in queue to get one if someone else cancels their order.

Anyway, I have my fingers crossed. I got mine for 199.99 with a 40 off 200 coupon, all done online. I also have my rebate sheet all filled out and waiting for the UPC from the box.
