Man, you're either a smooth talker or just luckier than I am.. the first rep I spoke with just told me to fill out the online pricematch form, I called back all confused (do I put OfficeMax as the competitor? Is OfficeMax competing with itself? What if I don't have a fax machine?) and the second rep commented that there was a coupon used, put me on hold, and said that it would be forwarded to delivery, who would pro-rate the coupon and that I might get a little bit back..

This deal is alive, but you can only get it at the B&M stores. You cannot use the $ off $ coupon. I bought one at the B&M stores and it was a 4x instead of the 2x. I've already started backing up DVD movies.
Yes you can use coupons in OfficeMax if the manager is willing to accept a print out of a on-line only coupon or a print out of your order showing the coupon discount and some will accept in-store coupons from other Office super stores like Staples or office depot, but it's not a OfficeMax policy to do this it's totally up to the store manager to accept or not accept these types of coupons in stores.

FYI:
The Khypermedia ValueDisc $20 MFR MIR FORM (i.e. the one which must be postmarked within "7" days of purchase) can be filled out ON-LINE for faster processing. Hopefully the "7" day period is considered met the moment the WEB SUBMISSION is created.

Click here to proceed w/ the ON-LINE MIR submission

Note: The "Additional Promotion Details" of the WEB-REBATE claims that it's a $5MIR; however, the top part of the page clearly shows that it's the $20MIR. It's merely a TYPO in the "Additional Promotion Details" section (something I've seen before but have never been bitten by).

Just did this and it still states:

"Requests MUST be postmarked within 7 days of purchase for each offer."

Did it anyway, hopefully it will work.

BTW, to those who couldn't get the IR to apply online, save the webpage from MysticMan1's first post. Link to ads. Then call and get them to credit you. I did this and it worked, I was credited $75.xx ($50 for the DVD-R and $20 for the CDR's + tax.)

Thanks MysticMan1 for the deal.

I think if it all doesn't show up by Friday, I'm going to call and see about getting the rebated submission date extended or get another credit.

It doesn't work that way, all submitting on-line does is give you a head start on the rebate process, you don't get a "postmark" by submitting on-line.

Thanks.

Oh no! I ordered on Sunday, but my UPS tracking number suggests that the package won't be delivered until Monday... Any bright ideas as to how to deal with the Value Disc rebate? I don't want to refuse delivery because (a) I can't since it's going to my company mailroom and (b) it looks like the dvd-rw and cd-rs will be coming in the same box..

Help!!

Someone posted that what they did to get a copy of the UPC code for the rebate was to buy the CD-Rs in the store, take the UPC code off that CD-Rs box to send in with the rebate and when the CD-Rs he ordered on-line come he will return that box of CD-Rs to the store.
Also if you have to you can return just the CD-Rs for a refund, they will only subtract the part of the $50 coupon that covers the CD-Rs.

Who here got the DVD drive only with the $50 IR and used a $ off $ coupon. I'm curious because before and during Sunday they had the drive for the regular price and then they just pulled it from their web site. The coupons say only for use in OfficeMax.com, not the B&M stores BTW.

They took down the offer about an hour after they update the 50 IR rebate on OM.com. I ordered the drive for w/o the 50 IR but called in for a price fix and it worked.

I just got my dvd burner. Now for the rebate, it ask for a copy of receipt, UPC, and serial # label. Is it all from the label on back of the package ? The one that says "Performance Specifications"

I haven't still got my shipment though I ordered at 12:30 AM midnight on Sunday! Everytime I call, I'm told that my area (CHICAGO - probably a remote village for OfficeMax) is out of the delivery area, and so it would take around 7 business days to reach!

Anybody had any luck on the value disk stuff? I mean any late rebates are acceptable or are the willing to take the value disks back in store without deducting the $50 coupon benefit?

just to let people know about my experience with this purchase.

i bought the 4x drive online on sunday afternoon. unfortunately for me, i typed in one number wrong on my address. by wed, i had realized my mistake and called officemax to correct the address. they told me they would contact the shipper and correct the problem. i think i called again on friday and sunday. then i called on monday, tues, and finally tonight (wed) to check on my package. As of now, they can't tell me what is going on with my order. i was told that it would be cancelled and i would have to order again, that it would be shipped out with an overnight delivery, that i could pick it up in the store, and several other things.

the biggest thing that bothers me about all this is that they went through with the order even though my shipping address and billing address are different and the shiping address wasn't listed with my credit card company. they said on the phone that it was the responsibility of the user to type in the correct address, which i understand, but what if the "user" is just some guy that has my cc number and my billing address. i don't know, like maybe every place i've ever ordered from. i know the cc company will protect me and all but it seems like such a pain in the butt to deal with that mess.

also, ups actually delivered one of the boxes to an old address from two years ago. the only reason i got that one was because the lady at my old house was nice enough to drive it up to the officemax close by.

i think i've called six times now and they still have not changed to my correct address. i guess they will be spending more money to ship it to the wrong address again. who knows.

may have a 40 pack of discs up for sale soon if these people can't figure out how to change a 4 to a 5. damn caffiene and my nerves.

rant over.
