I got that with mine, from late Jan.

Just call the number on the rebate, call them voice, make sure you have a copy (or at least the number on the UPC), read it back to them, tell them you sent in the correct rebate. They will fix it for you.

Some dumb-ass rebate processors saw the first model on the rebate (top) and thought it didnt match. But the 4x model was the last model listed (bottom). So they thought it wasnt right.

Just keep calling, they will update your rebate - at least I didnt have to send in anything new.

gah. I just got off the phone with a CSR.. I had to repeat the model name and number four times, and repeately explain that I was due a $50 rebate, not a $30 rebate..

I think there's a lesson here: Low quality PDF multiple-item/value rebates are just asking for things to go wrong.

I received my drive today!! (Place my order on March 9th). Can anybody believe this :Q ? And it seems that the the package was opened ... and the DVD-RW repacked in crumpled polythene cover! I'm so mad .... :| Also there was only one CD with Win DVD in it ... no DVD/CD writing software, and no Audio Cables ...

Can somebody please tell me what kind of software did you guys get with it?

Should have got a crappy white DVD-RW....and a software disk with crappy My Sonic DVD movie editing software.

BUT the package clearly states that the contents include:

- CD Mastering Software
- DVD decoding Software
- 4.7GB DVD-R Disc
- Internal IDE Data & Audio Cables


Except for the Internal IDE Cable, and the crappy My Sonic DVD movie editing software CD, I did not get anything else with the DVD writer. Is it normal .... or is it only me? Did you guys buy nero etc.?

Please ... please can you provide me this information? I'm on the verge of returning the stuff especially that the mail in rebates have kind of ended ... also, was you DVD-writer well sealed or just taped in a polythene?

They had sent a used and abused return item to me after my 6-8 calls to customer support for one month. My two emails to customer service never got replied either. I'm really pissed off at the "bureaucratic" and "unprofessional" set-up of Office-Max.

However, I went to the store ... I was quite surprised that they had it in store .. and I could exchange it .

But when I came home with the exchanged piece, I saw that .. it was also an open-box (with Nero CD in a badly folded cover). But it has all the parts, and the DVD writer looked unused. It had a Memorex DVD-RW with it, and to my sutprise :Q when I installed and opened it, I saw a white pioneer CD-RW inside the drive. It is looks used with some silly clips in it... I'll have to clean it.

So I'll keep the unit ... total comes out to be 192 (including tax) - 50 mail in rebate (rebate guys say that they will honor it - lets see).

I had a problem with the $20 CD-R rebate on this deal. The rebate was rejected due to the seven day time limit after purchase on sending in the rebate form. Here's my details:

Order placed on March 9, CD-Rs backordered and package not received until March 17, I completed rebate form and delivered it to the post office within two hours of getting the package in order to avoid the 7 day deadline). Here's the note I received this morning:

Obviously, I was not happy - they advertise a price with a rebate, but then there's no way to actually get that rebate??

I called Officemax.com - the first rep said sorry, we're not responsible for manufacturer rebates. I asked to speak with manager. He said he would send me a $20 officemax gift card to fix the situation. Good enough for me.
