Where does it say $300 back? I only see the offer of $100 back after spending $500.

Says it here. I have an Amazon Chase Visa already, can i still apply and cancel the card once the $300 is credited to my account?

Rewards Currency
Rewards are earned as points, which can be redeemed for cash back. 1% cash back equals 1 point. If you choose to redeem for cash back, 1 point equals $0.01 cash back. For example, 2,000 points can be redeemed for a $20 check.

$300 Bonus Cash Back
You will receive 30,000 bonus points with this bonus offer, which can be redeemed for a $300 check. To qualify and receive your bonus, you must make purchases totaling $500 or more during the first 3 months from account opening. Purchases do not include using your account for balance transfers or cash advances, or using any checks that access your account. After qualifying, please allow 6 to 8 weeks for bonus points to post to your account. To be eligible for this bonus offer, account must be open and not in default at the time of fulfillment. This one-time bonus offer is valid only for first-time cardmembers with new accounts. Previous and existing cardmembers/accounts are not eligible for this bonus offer.

I got this deal last year. No hassles at all, spent over $500 over the first couple of months, got 30,000 points ($300) added as available rewards and credited it to my account.

If you plan on ever carrying a balance, you're going to get royally screwed with any credit card. If you pay the full balance each month, it's great.
Fixed.

You should be able to.

I already had a Chase CC and I was able to get in on the Freedom deal last year

I got a promo in the mail from Chase that was $300 just for signing up (no spending $500).

Sure enough, I have 30,000 points in my account. I want to say they showed up in about a month-and-a-half...I think after I paid my first bill.

It is a real deal and the only downside is that you take a minor, temporary ding on your credit score (new inquiry & average age of accounts goes down, but available credit goes up).

I'm assuming yes, but what I plan on doing is calling them up once I get my card to confirm. If they say no, then I will just cancel the card.

I can tell you this, when I logged into my Chase account this morning, there was an offer for a Freedom card but with only a $100 cash award. Not sure why this offer would be any different.

Thanks. I see the proper image from the link from home. It might have been blocked on my computer at work. Great deal!

That is a bad idea. Having available unused credit is good. Opening accounts incurring hard credit inquiries and closing accounts is bad

Please don't lecture me on credit. I know more than enough about it, it's benefit, it's evils.

One credit card opened, then immediately closed is not going to do squat to my score, nor do I really care. I am not a credit score hawk like many on this site.

Additionally, available unused credit is good to a point. I have plenty of it already, don't really need any more.

so... What can a person do with points? Can you pay your statement with them? B/c I'd rather be reimbursed $300 from a 500 statement, since I have no idea what to do with cc points.

The points turn into cash.
30,000 points turn into 300.00 and can either be sent to you by check, deposited into a linked checking account or credited to you CC statement.

Thanks to this deal my $550 7970 will be more like $100 :wub::wub:.
With math skills like that, I'm not sure you should get ANY credit card.

Quick questions:

I am looking buying a new $250-$300 video card soon (was waiting for march 6th and the 7870). If I get this credit card and buy a 7970 instead, I'd spend $600 and pay the balance off immediately. If I understand this correctly, I'd get 600 points on my first statement ($6) and then 30,000 points 6-8 weeks later.

1) After I get those 30,000 points, I could redeem my 30,600 points for a check which would equal $306?

2) How long should I keep that account open for? Three months, six months, one year?

Most cash back programs require reimbursment in increments of $25 or $50.

Ahhh, thanks. In other words, I should expect $300 instead of $306.

So, is everything else correct? How long should I keep the C/C?

No, chase doesn't do increments. I with drew 407 and some odd cents to my checking account.

Also, deadken, you may want to think about keeping it as they have 5% bonus on rotating quarters.

Right now it's 5% off up to 1500.00 in purchases for gas and Amazon. I know the gas will be repeated in the third quarter so you can have 6 months of 5% off on gas purchases.

Sorry for the ugly link but just click on it and then click in the 2012 calender link to see what the 5% offers are.
