Someone posted that he stop in a Best Buy store and saw the Compaq FS740 17" monitor on sale for $199 before the $150 Compaq rebate.

Staples, Circuit City and Sears also carries this monitor, so take in the Compusa ad and do a price match.

Well I went tonight (Friday) and bought one of these. I dont know why. It is so heavy.. (Getting old)... But I need to speakers for a an old computer., and then the monitor will be free. I looked around, and there they were, already for the Sunday sale. 6 or 7 of the red and white boxes. But $432.97 .. out the door, thats incredible that I would pay that for a monitor that has to be returned in 14 days, or no return. So I guess on Sunday it will be 199.97 + tax. after the immediate markdown. And then the rebate of $150...Should end up being in the range of $66.47 net for Monitor and Speakers. Will see how the thread goes. Thanks. Now find me a nice TV/Monitor for my son...

This monitor only comes with only 1 year warranty, which is not great but still a great price after rebate. Most monitor comes with 3 year and at least 2 year.

Do I miss something?! Don't we need to buy a whole PC bundle which include the Compaq PC, monitor, and printer, in order to qualify this $200 rebate?! If so, then it is not hot at all. Please correct me if I am wrong.

The $200 rebate is for a system. If you look further down on the rebate form you'll see that if you buy an FS series monitor you qualify for a $150 rebate. This monitor is an FS740 so it's covered.

Basically, CompUSA is putting it on sale for $199 and the Compaq rebate is $150 =$49 +tax after MIR.
Compaq also has a $200 rebate when you purchase an eligible pc, monitor and printer bundle.

I highly doubt it as CompUsa is advertising the rebate. If the rebate doesn't go through, head up to the store and get the $150 credited back to you.

I snagged one in Melbourne FL today, (I only one I saw) I think they are clearancing these out , I figured they'd all be gone when I'm able to go on Sunday after Church so now to get the $200 off, as far as the $150 rebate goes, last time I sent in a compaq rebate for $100.00 ($75 minus $100 rebate =+$25 OM deal) I got the check pretty quick so I think compaq is good at honoring there rebates.
