That was an absolute smoking deal! I scored 4 of these cases in a matter of an hours time. Went to CUSA, showed the print that I said a buddy sent me, they said sure after seeing the date, tried to get them to stack my gamefixx discount with it, but they would not go for that. Then I went right across the parking lot to CC, second one in the car, go across town to second CC, scored two more all using my CUSA receipt. They were a little leary across town till I whipped out the scanned ad.

BTW we have two CUSA'a and 3 CC's within a 15 mile radius here, I left the rest alone because I think my credit card was ready to melt.

Now off to eBay my excess, I love this forum....

You probably shouldn't be bragging about that. There's nothing more aggravating than missing out on a deal and having someone bragging about how they cleaned out 5 stores to sell them on egay for aprofit.

No they come in here to network with others and save lots of dollars, and if they make some money back in the end well good for them. That is how the economy works. Don't like it, live in poverty all you want.

I have never come into this board and tried to sell any of my things that is a violation, I pay eBay dearly every month to do that.

Don't like it cause somebody got left out, well that is just tough luck, happens to everyone. I know I have missed many a great deal that others took full advantage of.

It is the American way to make a dollar from a good deal when you can. I am not coming here to trade, just to save so my trading is better.

This thread is also over @ FW. I will post here what I did there:

$50 for a case with PSU is a usaully a good deal. I am not trying to thread crap here, please don't construe my comments as such.

I had a Lanboy and hated it. To make it extra light the case is made out of extremely thin aluminum that resonates horribly from the fans - it makes even Panaflow L1A's sound loud. It is also soo thin that when you haul it to LAN parties it gets dented up. You could use the case with Vantec Tornadoes in it to distract your opponents; as long as you have noise cancelling headphones..

Think aluminum cases cool significantly better than steel ones? I used to. Material doesn't matter at all if you have well designed airflow in your case - and the Lanboy does not. So not only does the case make a racket, it doesn't cool well either.

Good cases exchange the air in them frequently; so the heat absorbtion/loss rate of the enclosure doesn't make any measureable difference. (the air within the case will not be there long enough for the radiant heat to be absorbed) If you have a properly designed case with a good fan setup, the case will cool better with the sides on than without - material won't matter, just airflow.

The Antec Power supply in the case is worth at least $30, so its not a total loss if you already bought it. I just wish I would have known that airflow is much more important than case material when I bought my LanBoy.

I did have fun re-enacting the fax machine scene from Office Space with my Lanboy when I got my new case, so it wasn't a total loss.

Antec makes great products usually; th Lanboy is their lemon. Look for a deal on a 1080 AMG or a SLK 3700 AMB and you will be much happier.

Yeah, but I disagree that its the American way to make a dollar$ at other peoples expense. Sorry, I don't snatch up deals like this and sell them on ebay.

Personally I'm happy to get a good deal, and i'd rather know that a few other people got a good deal as well rather than make a few bucks. I think it's rather crass to tell people to either be an ass or shut up and be poor. I'm not poor, and I don't plan on being poor but I also don't want to make money by being a troll. If you see it a different way, then whatever. Tell yourself whatever you need to, to get to sleep at night. The only difference between people like that, and huge exploitive companies, is scale.

I think it's sad that you identify this atittude with the "American way". The places I like to shop are not the huge chains for this reason exactly. Money is nice, but to me it's not worth taking advantage of other people for. I've never liked the business model of "buy low sell high" I like a good honest product made by an honest person, sold for an honest price, all with respect and quality.

You made many good points. I noticed that the case only allows for 2 80mm case fans which is a concern if you wanna oc with air.

I currently have an SX-830 with 5 case fans. The airflow of the 830 is outstanding! However even though the 830 is not considered a "Full" Tower it sure is big. I was hoping to get this to add more room to an already congested area.

I don't know about the construction of this case in particular but have always found the build of Antec Cases to be outstanding.

I guess it just wasn't meant to be for me & probably for the best.

In regards to woodscomp comments on how he's gonna flip over a profit on ebay....GREAT!!! Just don't bring it to this thread. Braggarts are usually compensating for a lack of something you be the judge of what

I love this place too. I've made many of good deals here & look forward to continuing to do so. It is indeed a "GREAT" place with some members who actually care & are willing to share their knowledge, experience & time to help others out (not just themselves).

Cruised up to Augusta today for some parts from CompUSA's black ad thing....decided to give the case a try. Needed a couple for some builds coming up. Got one from CompUSA, they had two....no hassle at all w/ the ad. Then went to BB (needed a laser toner cart. and they're the only oens who stock my brand), got one from them, of the four in stock, for $45.....no sales tax on either....GA is in their "Sales Tax Holiday" weekend for school, and computer cases qualify. Figure they should be better than the typical $50 cases out there, esp. w/ the Antec PS.

I don't think I would mind if what woodscomp did was a bannable offense. Certainly people around here get banned for much less in the big scheme (like arguing about a car ). This is one of the truly destructive and selfish things that someone on these forums can do to hurt other members and the community. Coming back to brag about it is just the rubbing salt in an open wound. Oh well, guess that's "the American way."

I can see where on the last day of the ad, in the last two hours of shopping time where I snagged four cases from three of seven stores that carry them here, in a city populated with over 2.5 million people how I just ruined a good thing that was publicly advertised on this forum.

No it was an oppurtunity, and I took it. Was I selfish, no, I often times buy items in lots from OEM channels, does that make me selfish? No.

Did I rub salt in your wounds, no and if you took it the wrong way, well then get over it.

Should I be banned for telling of my great fortune and placing my thanks where they are due. I don't think so, and I don't think I saw that listed in the forum rules.

So go piss and moan on the proper board and leave me alone.

got one from my local CC today....just wanted to thank mannydx for the heads up. wanted to share my first pleasant PM experience. armed with the scan printout, i headed to the customer service location, showed the scan to a very pleasant (and cute) csr. i asked her if they would PM the price of the case. she had me goto the case section where one was sitting and get the SKU for her to verify that it was indeed the same product. a few click of the keys and she went to ask the manager for approval, came back 30 seconds later and said, "yes, we'll match it for you" bada bing, bada boom....left with a box on my shoulders. boy, if only all PMs could be so painless.

Sounds like a leech to me. Someone who comes to the board to try and rape the deals and give nothing in return. If you don't want people to piss and moan about the situation, maybe next time you'll keep your bragging to yourself or post it in the correct forum. Better yet, maybe you'll find another board to leech off of.

I had to drive a little bit, but I finally was able to get in on this deal. I got there right before they closed. The guy just glanced at the ad and said it was ok.. I hardly need the case right now, but I do need a power supply, and an antec power supply at CC is more than this. I figure I'll either give the case away or use it whenever I build my new setup. This was a good deal, but I don't think you'll make that much selling them on ebay if you figure how much your time is worth
