Thanks. In IE you can remove the addy by going File->Page Setup and deleting all entries in "Header" and "Footer". This will print a clean image.

Chump USA sells the Lan-Boy without power supply for $99.95. They sell the true-blue power supply for 59.95.

If they are selling the case alone for $50.00 they are still selling the case power supply for $10.00 more than list.

Good marketing what?

So are we all leechin ho's when comes to a good deal?

Most of us that utilized this ad did so with some dishonesty involved. Why did we leave out the info of where this ad was taking place when we did our PM's? I believe it was because that if your local CC, BB or even CUSA would have known what part of the country this ad was taking place most of us would have been denied our PM's. So we purposely left that tidbit out.

In this respect, I do not believe we are any better or less than Woodscomp even though he bought a few more. Besides this ad was for a limited time anyways.

I am sure selling them on ebay will make Woodscomp a profit but hopefully will still give the buyer a deal too.
However, it was still poo-ey to brag in the wrong area.

(How about rebates - one per household - so we send the 2nd one to a relative? We are all just cheapskates.)

Actually it still worked even when the manager and sales knew the ad was from a different state. The original CSR said it wouldn't work but I browsed around the store for looking for other stuff and then decided to ask once more. This time the manager immediately called on another to grab the case from their storage rack without a single question. Then later, the cashier next to my stand called out to my cashier to don't bother scanning but just punch in the price. They knew about it but didn't care.

I thank the original poster for this deal. It's a great bargain. THANKS!!

I totally understand what you guys mean when one rips out entire stores for their stash and then brag about it. It's frustrating enough when you drive out specifically for a deal but find the shelves empty. Please don't brag on your good luck. Do that to others who don't know about it. I'm sure we all have at one point or another arrived at empty shelves and know the feelings all too well. So let everyone please be considerate. It's always nicer to make friends than enemies.

As for me, I know I'm guilty because even though I have this great case, I really desire the Sky Hawk Matrix PSR5605-BL which unfortunately does not come with a power supply. Counting costs, I could spend double of this case just for case and PS. Still torn about what to do with the LANboy...I actually find its front ugly and I know sooner or later I'll break that side-open door. Does anyone know of the best deal for the Matrix? The cheapest I've found is on mwave but I'll have tax too for CA.

True that none of us walked up to the csr's and said "I have a compusa ad from arizona, can I pm it?" But nothing would have prevented them from calling a local compusa or looking online. Hell, the csr that I got didn't even check the dates to see if it was a current ad. It just boils down to which csr you get really. Some will just give you the deal and others will nitpick and find a way not to match the price. As for woodscomp, I don't really have a problem with what he did, but bragging about it is not too smart.

Well I see I am still the topic of conversation. All I have left to say is thanks to those who see the irony in this post and told it like they see it. I did nothing unethical, I did not cheat anyone of you out of the deal, it is not my fault that CC only carries one to two Lanboys in the store at a time. And even with that you can go to all there websites and see if they are in stock or not before even driving out to the store. Also I may have misquoted myself during one of my posts when I said "I wiped out three stores" Actually I would not know if I wiped out three or just one. One I know about, the other two I left after buying just one case each, there were no more on the shelves, but I did not ask about in the wharehouse part of the store. My last stop I did take there last two cases, why, because I was not about to drive to a fourth store.

And lastly, if I was bragging about my good fortune, which I have absolutely no problem with agreeing on, and I am (insert descriptive word here) then everyone who ever comes to these forums to "brag" about there great purchases is the same descriptive word as I am... You can not fault me for buying 1 or 100 cases and telling of my great fortune, without doing the same to everyone else. I see people who moan about these things as underachieving "always me" types with low self esteem and are always pissed at the world and everyone else for the problems they face. That is my not so humble opinion.

Have field day kids... See you in my next brag session.

I think after all the crap you spread here, you may find it difficult to get legitimate bids on your wares on egay. Let's just say that the last guy who was as arrogant as you had a lot of trouble selling his stuff I personally don't visit egay at all, but that's just what I heard...forget what deal that was, I think it had to do with a burner or something. Anyone remember?

I think he meant you can use a photo editing program to get rid of the addresses of the stores at the bottom. An ad from Arizona might look suspicious.

Yea - I would try this @ my local CompUSSR but after the SONY DVD+-RW about a month ago I thought I was going to get banned from the store.

Fairly obvious, I'm a junior member....sorry for the empty post.

I was able to use the printed ad to get my local CUSA (Schaumburg,IL)
to make an exception sale. I had to go through (3) levels of folks up to
the store manager who finally approved the price of $50 since it was an
official and timely CUSA ad, i.e. the dates were current on the ad.

Thanks for the heads up.

I thought the ad expired on Sunday or did you get while it was still good?

I was there on 8/2 and the dates on the ad were Aug 1-3. I just wanted
to pass on that it was the fact that the dates were current that I was
able to get the exception pricing approved by the manager.

Is this deal still good? If it's not, the person that created it should edit this topic and put DEAD in front of it. Can't believe I missed out on this deal. I was looking for a nice case to take to lan parties. As for those that push the limits with these too good to be true deals, it's gonna catch up with ya. I don't know if anyone remembers the price mistake at DELL where they were selling LCD monitors for 7 cents, but alot of people that only ordered 1 monitor got theirs. Those who let their greed take over and ordered a boat load did not get any. And those same people also stated they were gonna sue DELL because they didn't get the 20 monitors they ordered. So come on guys, if the price is too good, let's give everyone a chance to get 1. Don't kill the deals.

Now that I've worked with the case a little I thought I should come sound off on what I like and dislike about it. As stated by many others it's small and hard to work in. After all it is a mini-tower. I didn't have any issues with not being able to remove the one side panel, but then I didn't install any drives. This case is destined to be given away as a door prize at a local LAN party. I was asked to find a quality case and modify it. Fitting that we're giving away a LanBoy at a LAN party. I certainly would never use this case for my main rig, but as a LAN only box it would work fine. The only complaint I have is how easy it is to smudge the Aluminum. After only adding two case fans and a cold cathode the case now has plenty of my fingerprints all over it. I've tried warm soapy water, rubbing alcohol and lighter fluid. Nothing has come close to removing the marks. Antec should consider some sort of coating to prevent this. Meanwhile, I continue using cheap, steel cases. It's not that they don't smudge as easy, it's just that I don't care as much...
