*DEAD* CRAWL TO STAPLES!!! Vivitar 3725 3.3MP 4x optical zoom for 130!!! B&M

Alright alright case closed

OMG just went to staples to pick up the Vivitar 3625 thats on sale. When I get there the manager tells me that the 3625 camera has been replaced with the 3725 thats 3.3 MP and 4x optical zoom (Its in a fax the HQ had sent him). I ask him to double check the price. He comes back and is the same price and rebate works!!!:Q
ADVICE: I only had a printable 20 off 100 coupon. The manager sees it and ask me to give it to him. He reads the find print that says "No copies" *BUMMER*.
Well then I go to the register and the guy (early 20) sees my coupon (I had already given up using the coupon at that time), and asks if I want to use the coupon. I see that the manager had taken off, and say "YES!!" woohoo. Hopefully you guys can find a 40 off 200 printable coupon. BTW, I also used the coupon for free Staples gift pack for purchases over 50. PS: I went to the Staples on Lincoln in Venice beach California. They have 6 left!!

are you saying they didnt have the 3625 so they are replacing it with the 3725 ? If so thats a store by store hit and miss deal...which is a bummer because I REALLY need to get one very soon. But it can't hurt to check, thanks for the post.

nonono The STAPLES HQ sent him a fax telling him to replace the 3625 with the 3725...he showed the fax to me. The rebate says 3625, but the manager said is all good since in their system the rebate shows is valid for the 3725.

They were extremely specific about my (20 off 100, I never got a 40 off 200) coupon!

I had to take out my mailed letter to prove to them that they are really mine.

Seems many people copied theirs illegally.

Now they check them curutially.

Scored!!!! Thanks. I got 249.99 - 20 instant off - 50 rebate = 179.99. They wouldn't take my printed out coupon. Oh well. I got this at the San Francisco Staples Express for those looking.

This camera isn't exactly svelt. It's on the biggish size. I was hoping it was smaller than my Kodak 3700, but for the price with those features I decided to get it.

Anyone interested in a lightly used ( 9 shots ) Kodak 3700?

I tried phone order. CSR told me the sku no. gave some error in their system and he couldn't add it into my order. He confirmed it MUST be B&M....but we don't have a local staple within 100 miles...

Yep I got the 3725. The camera didn't scan when I went to check it out. The manager told the clerk to use the gun scanner instead and it came up. I think what is happening is that they just cleared out the 3665 and they are going to reuse the SKU for the 3725. So they haven't adjusted the prices appropriatedly yet. My receipt says 3665 and not 3725. I'm calling Staples on Monday to make sure the rebate is good since the SKU and my receipt say 3665. The manager told me it was good but I don't want them to balk on it since I'm sending in a UPC from a 3725. Although under model number on the rebate coupon it says #60024/3725.

Cool, I got one too! =) This was the West LA one on Bundy, supposedly has a lot of them left.

They let me use to coupon too, even though it wouldn't scan and everything.

There was a flyer that said "sorry, due to shipment problems, blah blah, you get this 3725 instead"

Lots of typos on the flyer, but what the heck.

So it was 227 after tax before rebate for me.

you might ask the O.C. stores if the actually looked for it, or if they just checked the computer. the L.A.Cunty store i went to, the "electronics guy" checked staples.com and it took 10 minutes to convince him to look in the back. i asked for a 3725 and got one, even though they had 9 3665's in stock. if only i had a good BM coupon....

A slight correction to bolidos post

If the store has the 3665 in stock, they're not gonna give you the 3725. The memo says if the stores are out of stock or didn't get them in then they can substitute the 3725. I called around until I found a store that didn't have the 3665 instock.

Store on Lakewood & Artesia didn't have either cam. They said try back later in the week

Store on Atlantic and 405 still had the 3665 as of an hour ago so no go there.

Long Beach Town Center Carson & 605 is substituting the 3725 since they don't have the 3665. The Mgr on duty posted the memo about the substitution by the front door. They have to manually take off the $20 IR and key in the sku for the 3665. She told me if the rebate center gave me any problem to come back to her store and she'll take care of me.

I can't find ANY reviews for this camera (let alone any other vivitar digital cameras).

How does this camera compare to the Canon A10 or A20?

Ya, there's not alot of info out there but I did find this.

I don't plan on opening mine in case I decide to return it. I'm also holding out hope that I'll get an email from Staples with a legit printable coupon to use on it.

my observation is that this is a west coast only deal, the reason being is that there was probably a warehouse problem there and they weren't able to supply the right cameras, every place I have checked has the one listed in the advertisement

Well supposedly this is a rebadges Minolta (from that one review on the web). The video seems pretty decent, haven't tried transfering pictures yet. But be prepared to buy a new CF card cause the 16 MB that comes with it will hold ~15 2048 pics at standard quality (there are 2 better ones).
