I just want to say THANK YOU all for posting this!!!! Camarillo CA has the 3725s in lieu of the 3665s. They gladly took the 40 off coupon and handed me my rebate form. So far I have been very impressed with this camera! Even more so when the bottom line is $150! I really dig the record feature.
I did, but the online reviews of the minolta have a bunch. Well, I guess it *might* not be the same camera but I think it's the same, so just look at like the 30th post for the review link.
I already have 2 1.3 cameras, Canon A10 and FujiFInePix A101...nice but, not 3.3
I really don't know anything about cameras, so for 206-50, is this worth keeping. so far I've read some but things about this camera. what do you guys think?

This is my first digital cameral and I couldn't wait to open it. Everything seems great except for one thing. The batteries included in the box died after about 40 minutes of playing with the menus and two photos. Definitely need some rechargeables. Also it would've been nice if it came with the optional AC adapter. Do you guys think I can use any 6V adapter that fits?
. It seems that this camera is NOT a rebadge Minolta S304, but rather is made by the same contractor. Apparently the firmware and lenses are different, not to mention the casing. Also one guy at FW compared the Vivitar to his friend minolta and apparently the picture quality is not the same either, not to mention the minolta has better battery life! I am going to keep the camera anyways, although I am debating if I should return the Olympus c960 I bought at buy.com.......
Yeah, I read what the Fat guys are saying. Although I played with a Minolta S404 tonight and they feel so incredibly similiar. I didn't get to compare picture quality though. But the menus, the LCD display and the feel of the zooming are right on.
actually, in FW forum, the guy who insisted Vivitar 3725 is not a rebadged Minolta S304, who claimed he had compared the photo with a friend's S304 and who called a friend in China who OEM camera are all the same guy.

Did you play the Minolta S404 or S304?
S404 has a 4MP CCD, comparing it with 3725 might not be fair, but should be helpful for us anyway.
I appreciate if you can give us more hints on other components.
what I think is this Vivitar might not have Minolta's CxProcess image processing.
I played with a S404. Yes, I realize that it's a 4 megapixel camera. I wasn't commenting on image quality. Just the way the camera is built and the way that it works. For example the lcd menus look exactly the same. Also the way the zoom works is exactly the same. People keep saying that the Minoltas have a aluminum body. It looks like plastic to me. Just pop open the battery compartment and look inside. It's definitely plastic.
For those close to a Fry's, they sell Minolta S404s there. Stop by and tell people what you think.
puppyfriend, I bought my camera at the Staples in the Bridgepoint Parkway shopping center. It's the one right off of 92 in San Mateo. What time did you buy your camera at?
I got there at around 3:30 on Monday looking for this camera and the sales rep told me he had just sold one and thought it might be the last one they had, but he asked his supervisor who said they had one more left, which I took.

Would you try or have you tried that utility on the pictures taken by Vivitar to see if it works or not?
I think this camera has a lot of potential in making really good pictures. I haven't made any good ones yet though, my room isn't that well lit and I can't keep my hands steady enough for really great macro shots. I'll try tomorrow though, it seems nice.
