I don't know that I agree with this statement. The reason I say this is I took my cam to a friends house so he could test it out before deciding if he wanted to buy one. He took a pic of his backyard with the Vivitar and his Oly 490. When he downloaded the pics to his computer, the color of the pic taken with the Oly was much more enhanced almost to the point that it looked fake whereas the pic from the Vivitar was more realistic/accurate to what his backyard actually looked like. Granted, most people will want/like the vivid colors that may be produced with other cams but the Vivitar is the more true to life. The pictures from the 3725 look ok on the camara, but are definitely washed out when you get them to the computer.

I just bought a 128MB CF at Fry's. It works perfectly and is only 39.99. Don't buy Mr. Flash brand...I am having problems with cards of that brand with Vivitar
My 256MB Mr. Flash card is working fine.

I just wanted to recant my statement, as my Mr Flash card now does not work. I took the camera to work today to show it off, but when I tried viewing the pictures I took, I can't . I'm wondering if deleting the 10 or so pictures I took using my cf reader caused it. I could not get the card to format in the camera, but my reader did it with no problem. However, the camera now gives an error when I try to use it. I bought a 128 MB Sandisk card from Cosco out of panic, and the camera likes it just fine. I haven't tried viewing the pics using the cf reader yet though, I'll save that for tommorrow.

I have about 8 digital cameras. I *always* format the flash card in the camera it is to be used in to avoid such problems. CF cards contain their own controller and they look like a hard drive to Windows. This means that if you have a card larger than 32MB, Windows formats the card using FAT32. Your camera may not like this expecting to see FAT16 instead. My recomendation is to use the camera to do any file maintenance to a flash card unless you have successfully done so with a stand-alone reader/writer. You may otherwise render your card usless.

My 256 mr flash compact didn't work so I send it back to new egg and got new one today. It seems to work now. I think they have new batch. The plastic case was different and it says made in taiwan. I tried on my Vivitar 3725 and my Canon D60 and both of them works fine. New egg was pretty fast because I sent out on friday and I got it back on friday, which included holiday. So if your Mr. Flash doesn't work send in and get new one. It has a lifetime warranty!

It's not useless, it just won't work in the camera. It's fine in my pda. Also, you can choose which FAT to format the card. I went with FAT16 first, and when that didn't work, I tried FAT32. The result was the same either way.

I didn't know that Mr. Flash cards had a lifetime warranty. I'm going to call them and return it. It won't be to newegg though. I've had mine for over a year.

It doesn't matter how long you had it. You have to go through new egg if you bought from them.

I emailed newegg, but haven't heard from them yet. The site for Mr Flash was a joke.
