Yeah, while this was going on, I got a 240GB Extreme II for $115 because I considered it worth the extra $20.

Any bigger difference in price and I would've gotten the MX100.

BTW, the 512GB MX100 is probably the better buy when it's at a similar $/GB because it's not gimped like the 256- and 128GB models.

It has happened in the past, the 512gb version of this drive has been on sale for less than $200 in the past (I posted a link to such a deal earlier a couple weeks ago), right now on amazon/newegg it is $209.99

Now on the MX drives there is a great speed increase with the write speeds when you go from 128 to 256 to 512, with other drivers there is barely any improvement of they max out in the 250ish range. This has to do with channels and such and how they write data to the flash (such as modifying it in the internal cache/ram and organizing it in such a way it uses less write amplification)
