Just wanted to comment on the dead pixels / white light issue.
I ordered my 2001FP on Friday afternoon and received it yesterday. My 2001FP has no dead pixels. Also, I tried the black background trick and even turned off all the lights in the room, but I don't see the white light. I have a feeling that it was just a bad batch to go out.
For reference my 2001FP was made in Oct. 2003
I will post a review as soon as I get some spare time...

Make a powerpoint presentation with a light green color as the background and nothing else. Run that and hunt. If now powerpoint, change your background to that solid color. Green works well, so does a light blue.

I'm getting interested now. Perhaps this is a problem that's been fixed on later production runs. Perhaps it would be helpful for everyone who has received the monitor to reply with: date of manufacture and whether or not the monitor experiences the backlight issue.
I've kissed my 2000FP's screen before because it's so beautiful

Wow. I had it all cued up, all info entered, even hit the "I accept" button... and then chickened out. $801 with tax. I sat and asked myself "Self, ca you afford an $800 monitor"? Short answer - No. I can pay for it, but being able to put it on credit isn't really the same as being able to afford it. Oh well, maybe next year. Good luck everyone!
