Radeon's have the same feature.. In fact, I believe radeon's have had the feature for much longer than nVidia... IT's called "rotation" and it's somewhere in the drivers... But I'm currently on an nvidia based system (not one of mine)... so I coudln't tell you for sure

You can use R3DTweak to enable the rotation function in the ATI tray icon. The only problem is that it seems to cause windows to lag horribly. I'm on a dual xeon 2.4 with a Radeon 9800 and WinXP Pro and it was just unbearable (felt like CPUs were pegging at 100% utlization but they weren't). I read one other account of this behavior on usenet. Rage3d's search function was disabled last I checked so I don't know how pervasive this problem is and whether or not there's a fix.

Got my monitor and It powered up for 30 sec and now will not power up at all the power supply light comes on and dims off in about 3 seconds..

I'd like to thank the thread starter for making me spend $827.

Anyhow, I ordered the 2001FP yesterday afternoon, and to my surprise it already shows as shipped on the Dell site. So I should have it in tomorrow (opted for overnight.) The delivery estimate wasn't till the 18th, but I'm not complaining. Hopefully mine won't exhibit the same issues as some of the ones you guys have received. I'll keep you posted.

On another note, I've had the 2000FP, a 1760NX, and I'm currently using an NEC 2141SB. So I'm hoping the 2001FP will satisfy.

I've been quietly lurking this forum for a while, and decided to join after ordering a 2001FP. I ordered on the 11th, and UPS' tracking says it'll be delivered today.

I'm heading out today to finish up my holiday shopping, and I'm going to pick up a new video card for myself.

What card do you guys suggest to pair up with the 2001FP?

I'll let you know my initial impressions. I'm upgrading from a 17" flat CRT Samsung with .20 dpi, and I'll be glad to regain my desktop space again. LOL.

I would suggest something that is DVI (just about everything...) and something that can do DirectX9. That being said, the ATI's come bundled with Half Life 2, which may save you $50 down the road.

I have a Sept A00.

I have the brightness issue. No stuck or dead pixels.

I do have the annoying small bars going across the screen. Seems like every pixel row has the bars.

For those of you saying you have no problems, are your images smooth like a CRT monitor or do you see these bars?? Look on a grey background or the standard windows blue.

I'm trying to get to the bottom of this but as-is this is going back.

Got mine today. Zero dead pixels, zero stuck pixels, little-to-no light leakage in the upper right corner. Honestly, I'm not sure if there is any there or if I'm just TRYING to see it so hard that I'm seeing something. Looks great, I'm completely happy with it. It's a worthy successor to my 1800FP and my old 1600SW.

Just got home from a final to find this in my house So far I havent seen the bright light on the corners (I checked by playing a dvd). I will check for dead pixels a little later.

I just got this today and it's awesome! I couldn't take my eyes off of it. No dead pixels, October manufacture date. Haven't played a DVD yet, but played Madden 04 and it was awesome. The pivot works great. I have it hooked up to my DVI port on my Geforce 4 Ti 4600.

Go big baby!!! Get a 9800XT. No, seriously, how will you use the computer? Are you a gamer and if so, if you consider yourself in the position where you desire the latest and greatest, get the 9800XT. If not, you still have a plethora of options.
