I just got a geforce3 ti200 videa card for 60$ + 11$S&P. The cheapest on pricewatch is 88$ so I thought this was pretty hot.
Mine has a tv-out and is a random brand but there is an MSI for 60$ right now ending in 30 minutes that probably won't go up much more unless you folks bid on it since they are all ending around 60$.

UPDATE 6-6-02
Cards are now ending at almost $100 before shipping. Deal is over, but a lot of people did get in on these before they went up so much.

interesting...
never done anything on ubid, and i dunno if I'll get a response before it's locked, but do the products come from ubid themselves, or is if like an ebay?
also...no ubid / auction things in here.
edit: erm, i see that it's from ubid...gonna check resellerratings to see if they're reliable..(i know that other people know...just looking for myself)

While you're at it, check the Visiontek GF3 Ti500 for <$120 w/ 1 cent shipping. These have been selling for a couple of weeks now.

Well, here's my vote:

ubid sux rocks.

They might be able to handle a simple order of a video card, but I wouldn't bet my money on it.

GL....

:frown:

Oh, jetpeach, didn't mean to crap on your thread. That's a great price for that card.

oops sorry, didn't realize you can't do auction things here- makes sense though since the price changes too much. but in any case, keep your eye out their are some good deals on ubid right now on video cards.

the products come from ubid and all have warrenties and stuff. they aren't from people, the companies usually contract thru ubid to get stuff.

I've dealt with Ubid. They're OK. They will rape you on shipping and handling though. I remember it cost twice as much to ship my speakers as it did to buy them.

It seems like UBID tells their customer support to deny all problems at first and play email games with you. Their customer support is horrible and they won't give you a phone number to call. Many products are mislabled. For instance I ordered a geforce2 mx w/TV out... the card they sent didn't have tv out. The customer support said what I ordered didn't have tv out... even though it was in the auction tittle. The only way to get your money back is to dispute charges with your credit card company.

Whoot, gotta love posts that are going to get locked. On a side note, UBid has been pretty good to me-I've bought Sennheiser cans and my Dell lappie from them and saved a bundle compared to other online sites, including EBay. Part of the savings comes from the fact that their auctions are run differently and they frequently auction off numerous items at once.

dude, add $15 shipping to that geforce3 ti500
Should have waited for this Visiontek Geforce3 TI500 with 1 cent shipping
On other hand, I had no problems with ubid even when they mislabeled their products. They emailed me the ups shipping label and paid for shipping it back. I got the complete refund

by the way, I bid and won Robanton Geforce3 TI200 w/TV-out yesterday for $54 plus $11 shipping two days ago. They shipped it out yesterday. Anyone need a Leadtek Winfast Geforce2MX Dualhead with 2 VGA-out and a tv-out?

damn you, you got it for 54$ plus S&P. nothing like anandtech to turn your good deal into a soso deal...

do you know anything more about that robanton you are getting (same type I'm getting for 60$)? it's such a random brand and i can't find any info on it

actually..No links to auction sites. We do not consider auctions to be Hot Deals. guess you are in a hotdeal thread but auctions are not Hot..Brag and Moan thread is where this should be..

dont worry about the brand. As far as hardware is concerned, most if not all nvidia cards since geforce2 use reference design anyways. Some add better ram than others, some add passive cooling vs active cooling(fans), but thats about it. Better brands include tweaking software and such, but you can find a freeware substitute out there. You will be using Detonator drivers anyhow, so that dont matter much. So the point of this the cheaper, the better. I always like to be one step behind technology(geforce3 ti200 actually may be 1.5 steps behind ) so that I dont pay the price of an early adopter. In about 6 month when ti4200 drop below $80 I'd get that card and sell my geforce3 so that my upgrade cost is small.

I've had good luck with Ubid, particularly with quick shipping and delivery (I usually get the products within 3 days with regular ground). But I too have heard horror stories about their customer support.

Anyway, jetpeach, don't feel bad about starting an auction-based thread. This isn't the same as touting your own e*Bay auction. The Visiontek Geforce2 GTS-V for about $21 + $13 S&H (what I paid) is also a really good deal. Mine has been running at regular Geforce2 GTS 200/166 clock settings for a week now without any problems. It uses the updated 5.5 nsec RAM.

I wrote an article in the Tennessean about thier crappy procedures, I had screencaps and everythign of the product and their rules and they would change them as it would transpire. After it was all done. I got what I paid for. I never bought another item from them again.

I guess I'll nef/reflect: I have 3 of the MSI GeForce3 64meggers w/TVout here, one in my box. Its a Compaq OEM card with a passive heatsink and EliteMT 5ns DDR memory (read: no OCs here, the shiz gets hot). I did score 6700 in 3Dmark2001 with this card and the 29.42 drivers. The auction picture is bunk; its a basic Compaq OEM just like the TNT2 Pros that have been sold here. On the other hand, for about $68/shipped..... If in doubt, buy the retail boxed stuff, then you don't have to worry about misrepresented merchandise.

Caveat Emptor,
Clayton

Any good deal at Ubid on these cards will only get killed by posts like this at anandtech, as the traffic increases and the bids go higher. I guess thats the irony here.
