Got 2 geforce2 ti200's for $31 each, $12 for next day shipping. If you bid on more than one item, the shipping charge is great. My only bad experience is when they auctioned something that they didn't have in stock. Their customer service is horrible, but there are great deals on there if you look. Just read the description! People complain because they dont read the descriptions or understand the shipping.

I got great stuff, all retail and cheaper than it can be found anywhere. Got a ps2 for $220 when they were 300. PS2 Memory card for $9. The best thing is that when you buy a retail boxed item, you get the original warranty. You can't get that from many of the ebay shops.

Oh, stick to Ubid auctions only. Do not buy from consumer exchange or preferred sellers. They are either way too expensive or thieves. Beware.

if you look at the bottom of the Robanton gf3 ti200 auction page, you will see the specs. in the specs, it says GEFORCE2 ti200!!!!!!!!!

for those that bought Robanton gf3 ti200, is it really a gf3 or was it a gf2?

whoa, i just saw this too. I already bought mine so I'll let you know when it comes. all the specs in the description match that of a geforce3 ti200 and of course the title says that too. if they send me a geforce2 i'm gonna dispute charges and bitch like no other. i'll be sure to let you know.

UBID is terrible. :/

Caveat emptor...

There has been a problem with every single purchase that I have made through their company. I received a couple of AMD Athlon XP CPUs that were severely beaten up.

Be careful... Their packaging sticks.

I have to say that everything I have gotten from UBID has been on the up and up. The last thing i got from them were two TIVO's for 119.00 each ... but they did two things that really pissed me off.

1. The auction didn't end for another 5 hours (so that auction sh!t is hype).
2. The completley raped me on shipping 40.00 or something for each TIVO!!!

INretrospect I still did better than pricewatch or ebay at the time and my Tivo's are still running strong!

Shipping is awful... but the packaging defied reasonable explanation.

They put the Athlon CPU retail boxes in Fed Ex pouches... by themselves. No bubblewrap, no peanuts... nada. Both of the CPUs arrived with crushed boxes... working but crushed. Certainly not marketable as "new" and sealed. :|

If I am paying $12.99 for shipping of a single item... it should at least be packed.

I disagree strongly about Ubid being on the "up and up". I will not do business with Ubid anymore. The obvious reasons are unrealistic reserve prices and the shipping is exorbitant and pathetically slow. It is not unusual to win an auction and have to wait 4 or 5 days before the goods are shipped. Furthermore, they will sometimes mislead you on what is actually being sold. I got screwed on a card that was supposed to be a GTS-2 but turned out to me the slower GTS-V version and they refused to take it back.

However, the real downside with UBID is I don't believe it is a legit auction site. It is next to impossible to prove but I'm virtually certain that rampant shill bidding occurs on the large blocks to artificially jack up prices. I have seen too many auctions that a single party will enter a bid for the entire block (200+ items) at a price that is too high. Only a wholesaler would enter such a bid but a real wholesaler wouldn't have done it because the bid price was too close street price. Factor in the expensive and slow shipping, there would not be enough margin to make a profit. It is Ubid trying to protect their butts by bidding up the price on obselete junk that they are afraid of being stuck with and taking a loss. And they win because there are dumb suckers on the web who will continue to bid, even when they can buy it elsewhere for less money and hassle.

As I said, I will not business with them anymore.

Alright, lets agree that some people have extremely good experiences with them, some have extremely bad experiences with them and most fall in the middle. Since this is no different from 80% of online retailers, lets concentrate on a deal at hand.

I agree.

If we are all using credit cards, copying and printing the auction page and link, reading the details and UBid spells out the shipping cost before you place the bid, then anything that you receive other than the item you bid on can be disputed through your CC Co.

I have had four or five disputes and never lost a dispute because I don't wait, not even for my CC statement and I document everything.

You might want to consider holding off on video card purchases...

NV30, AKA Geforce 5, is due out in August/September.... which should bottom out prices for both the Geforce 3 and 4...

I bought a Visiontek GF3 Ti200 from UBid three weeks ago. Full retail box for $66 + $12 shipping. I am very pleased with it, and it was just as advertised.

Follow this logic, and you'll wait forever. There is always going to be new cards coming out pushing the cost of old ones down. Of course things will probably go down when GF5s come out. But, thats 3 months from now. If you ask me, regular prices of GF3's when the GF5's come out will probably be about the price of this deal, so, why not go for it? Already seems pretty bottomed out to me.

Nice post, IMO. I've dealt with Ubid alot. They friggin ruled before they started putting reserves on auctions. A few years ago, I would stay up until crazy hours of the night (5am in some cases), and win auctions for crazy cheap. I won auctions for speakers and put together a home theater system for under $250 that individually retails for way over $1000. I also got a DVD player ($150 off retail), my Sennheiser HD580's ($240 off retail), and a brand new Dell Laptop that dell was still selling on their site, and I saved $1,000 by getting it from ubid.

I did have one problem one time with a laptop case I bought from them. It was completely different as described. Supposed to be a Leather Targus that retailed for $219, and it ended up being a TEXAS INSTRUMENTS laptop case. It was leather though, so, I was still happy. I just really liked the styling of the targus, so, I bitched and moaned and complained, then figured it wasnt really worth it in the end. I spent $35 including shipping on it, so, I didnt lose a lot, and still got a decent laptop case.

I've delt with Ubid in the past and just recently. Thier customer support is infuriating BUT you can get things done. Thier shipping while rapist quality has improved, think of it as a dab of vaseline. I've gotten products via UPS (they switched about 8 months ago from fedex) in 3 days (cross country). THANK GOD, thier new good shipping can't be based on the ups switch I believe they have restructured or at least rehired shippers. Thier prices on auctions range from exorbanent, to excellent. Good luck, but as always buyer beware.
