mines coming today!!! WOOOOHOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!
just get into the fs/ft forums and stick that card up for trade for a 4200 with 1 analog out and 1 dvi out + minimal cash...shouldn't take too long to get an offerOriginally posted by: BentValve
I ordered mine this morning and it shipped out today.
Say , I do not have a video card with a DVI output, my card is a Geforce 4 Ti4200 with dual analog outs . I am going to be critically comparing this monitor to my 21" Sony G520P ..how much of
a loss of pic quality should I figure in if I am only using the analog input on the 1800fp?

Mine is currentlly in transit to local carrier. Are all of these coming out of texas(thats where dell is located, right?) or do they ship them out of smaller centers closer to the destination. Also what sort of video card does it take to play modern games at 1280x1024 with quality very high? I currently have an AIW 8500DV, and i doubt its got enough guts to do it. I am also running an AMD XP2100+. But i am considering getting rid of the AIW in exchange for either the ledtak TV tuner for sale at newegg or maybe wait on the expert version. And then get a new video card. What would I need to get. Would my best bet be getting one of the Radeon 9500 Pros and then doing the software mod to turn it into a 9700?

I have to admit its not as dramatic an improvement over my previous monitor (Mitsubishi 920U) as I expected... I am not sure if its my video card (Elsa Geforce 3, no DVI) or if I am expecting too much... but text just isn't as sharp as I expected.... I know the Geforce series has been weak in the 2D area, but the Elsa was supposed to be one of the better cards... Maybe now its time for a 9800

Stick and use the DVI port instead and be amazed with the difference.. Text won't have the highlights anymore..

No flashlight, but I do move my head around to see any smears etc. from all angles.1. When you go to clean your monitor screen do you turn it off , pull out a flashlight and examine
it from every angle to make sure it is clean, even if you were sitting on the ceiling?
Only because I know I'll have to clean off the mark. But I would never yell at someone for touching it.2. Does your heart skip a beat when someone puts a finger on your screen?
Nope, but I sort of wish I had the tools to do it.3. have you load tested you homes power to make sure it stays at 115v +/- .005V?
Hours, hell no4. Do you find it rather entertaining to stare at a geometry screen and other
monitor calibration tools for hours on end?
The important question is, CAN you be satisfied, or will you be dissatisfied with every monitor?I am so picky that most people cannot even see the flaws that I see, what might look
perfect to you might look like crap to me.

Yeah Dell is insanely fast with shipping, its too bad their order confirmation process is such a PITA. I got my 1900FP before my order even registered in their system (ordered 7pm est, arrived 10am next day)!!! I couldn't even pull the order online until two weeks afterwards lol!!
