I just bought one through Dell home...2 weeks a go i recieved it...I spoke to the DEll rep and he said he couldn't do a price adjustment in another division, so if you bought it in the small business division it sounded like you could get a price adjustment, but since i bought mine in the home section, I couldn't?.....

that is what "gary" told me 5 minutes ago anyway....

my 2000fp just came in yesterday... in fact, the first thing I did with it was visit the forums, and see these deals ($400 savings)... Anyway I just talked to the Dell customer Rep... Dell CANNOT pricematch. But it seems there was no problem with me 'returning and reordering'... In fact the guy said since I was buying the monitor still, he'd send me a shipping label, so I wouldn't have to pay return shipping on the old monitor... Now if only the dell site would work, I could order another one. I mentioned that this seemed a little nonsensical and stupid, and he wholeheartedly agreed... I hope this helps somebody.

Cool thanks for the heads-up guys, it'll save me the trouble of rushing home after work in the sh1t-storm that is hovering over the DC area trying to PM.

Hey, thanks for the heads up on the killer deal. But is it me, or is the f@t c@sh site not accessable? I for the life of me cannot get it to respond when I click the Dell link.

I'm having the same problem here, unable to access Dell SB through F@tC@sh and eBates, this sucks!

Yeah, it seems that dell.com is having problems itself. Must be why we cannot access it through other sites.

If nobody wants to buy this for me for X-mas, I'm gonna order it myself. I've been waiting to switch over to a LCD display. With this price it's just too dam tempting. Gonna have to dump some cash for a Video card with DVI too..

Oh well, X-mas presents for myself.. I Love the holidays..

you know... i gotta wonder what moron customer service reps are doing sending out return labels instead of a price adjust? i guess they're just not aware that they can get you to someone who has the ability to do it right...

30 days start when product is shipped (shipping date on shipping slip) NOT when it's ordered.

Oops - if that is true I apologize. My statement was referring to dell systems. I did not know that the part division has a different policy.

Here is the official Dell Return Policy

[From the software and periph section]

Opened, As-New Merchandise

Hardware and accessories products for which the original manufacturer's packaging has been opened may be returned to Dell only if accompanied by a Credit Return Authorization Number (CRA), within 30 days of invoice date for a refund of the purchase price. Returned products must be in as-new condition, including the original box and all other original packaging, manuals and accessories.

Dell will accept returns of software for refund or credit only if the sealed package containing the disks or diskettes is unopened. No software may be returned once the package containing the disks or diskettes has been opened.

[From the small business section]
"Total Satisfaction" Return Policy (United States Only)

If you are an end-user customer who bought new products directly from a Dell company, you may return them to Dell within 30 days of the date of invoice for a refund or credit of the product purchase price. If you are an end-user customer who bought reconditioned or refurbished products from a Dell company, you may return them to Dell within 14 days of the date of invoice for a refund or credit of the product purchase price.

..... Near the end.....
This "Total Satisfaction" Return Policy does not apply to items purchased from our Software & Peripherals division. For those items, please instead refer to the Software & Peripherals division's then-current return policy. The "Total Satisfaction" Return Policy also does not apply to Dell | EMC storage products.

It seems that regardless of which division you ordered it from, you have 30 days from the date of invoice to return it. The "Software and Peripherals" division also says that non-defective returns could be subject to a 15% restocking fee... As an update to my earlier post, the site started working around 1pm CST and I ordered another 2000fp from the small business division, and recieved both confirmation e-mails after an hour... A couple of hours of work to save $400 doesn't seem bad to me. Does anybody know if I can just slap the return shipping label on my new monitor, or if I have to go through the trouble of swapping them out?

Well I don't think I'm going to buy a Dell 2000FP after all which is a huge relief for me and my super wafer thin wallet.

Just called Dell Home Customer Care at 1-800-624-9897 option 1 ext. 66696 spoke with a very friendly woman, gave her my order number for my 1900FP explained that it's now $60 cheaper at Dell SB she put me on hold for what seemed like forever (3 minutes) came back, said ok I will credit your cc for $60 here's the reference number. I thanked her profusely for making it such an easy and painless process.

Although I didn't get a super smoking deal and didn't buy the 2000FP I am happy with my 1900FP and think I will keep it.

Of course I still have another 7 hours until this deal dies at 11:00 PM CST.

Here's how my 1900FP ordered 11/11/2002 priced out:
$694.20 - 2% eBates - $60 price adjustment - free shipping - 0% Oregon sales tax = 620.32

Buy a new one from Dell regardless the price and ship this one back to them. This is a bad thing to do, but if they screw you over, then you need to do likewise.

Nice deal, how'd you come up with the $60 adjustment though. Dell SB has the 1900FP for ~$607 after 5% & 20% off (before taxes). While Dell Home has it for ~$719. Shouldn't that be a $112 adjustment? I'm going to call the CSR and see if I can swing this. The 1900FP for $607 shipped free is too tough to pass up.

I just want to report general success in getting a pricing adjustment for the 1900FP LCD. Purchased it for $684 last week, called DCS and told them there was a price drop on it from $899 to $799. So I said they owe me $100 and the dude I spoke to said "give me 2 mins" and voila!! To make a long story short, I got the dude to give me a confirmation number so that this isn't some "yeah, I'll do it, I promise" type of deal. I just gave them a call back to confirm and the $100 credit is indeed posted to the account. So my final price is $684-$26.97(fatcash)-$100(credit)= $557.03 Not bad for a 19" LCD

Mine was easy also except for I'm only getting $60 back which I should be lucky since Dell Home shouldn't PM Dell SB I was told.

But I cheated kind of

I don't think I cheated I just told them I bought it at $899 last week and this week it's $799 so my price should be adjusted accordingly. The guy said not a problem. I spoke to like 6 people before this, and they ALL said it can't be done; that I need to return the LCD and buy a new one at the new price. But it's all good. $100 is really helpful; it'll just quell the pain a little when these LCDs will be dirt cheap sometime down the road
