I ordered the 2000FP yesterday afternoon and then realized it has a fat ugly bezel.
I almost threw up when I saw what it looked like.

I called again last night and ordered the 1900FP with the slim bezel that looks great.

They said to call when the 2000FP arrives and they will send return shipping labels at no charge

The 19" was $607 shipped and the 20" was $759 shipped.

I keep hearing the 1900FP has ghosting issues and the resolution really doesn't even compare to the 2000FP.

Can anyone put this issue to rest? I ended up going for the 2000FP because I want a monitor that can be used for video purposes without getting dizzy though did not see much issue with the Samsung 191T.

Anyway, $200 extra for an extra inch plus s-video and composite inputs and a fat ugly bezel and less ghosting? Any other opinions?

The 1900FP is a rebadged Samsung 191T.

I saw the 191T at a local CompUSA and the picture was FANTASTIC.

I'm not a game player so I may never see the "ghosting" or whatever the term is.

I'm not sure if this applies to video other than games or not, but I would imagine there might be ghosting issues with DVD playback or something. Since I haven't received the monitor yet, I don't know. I got the 1900FP.

I also got the Dell pricematch, "Dave" in customer service gladly refunded me $100 on my 1900FP purchase (making my total $538). This was because I ordered it when the regular price was 899 and now is 799. He did say this is a 1-time shot, so if it drops again forget it, and remember you have 30 days to do it. I took the $100 whilst I could!

I will give you all my review on it shortly.

By law, they have to tell you that. They normally ship within 24 hrs if in stock.

Mine has already shipped

by law...huh?
I've ordered from them before (many times actually, damn AT deals ), and it definitely isn't the law to tell you 3 weeks delivery time

I just got this monitor and had a crazy idea: is it possible to unscrew the monitor form the stand and screw it back on so it is portrait-itized?

When I placed my order 2 weeks ago during the 20% off time, they confirmation email said it's gonna be shipped Dec. 18, but it was shipped the very next day by UPS ground and I got it in 4 days. They give you a worst-case-scenario date I guess.

Alright, got my 1900FP Friday and here's the review I promised...

NOTE: This was my FIRST LCD experience and I used a Radeon 8500DV and Geforce Ti4200, both DVI and Analog...

I should start with the fact that this morning I braved the Dell customer support phone tree (what crap) to setup a return for my 1900FP and a REFUND.

Now dont get me wrong, the LCD was defective, the top half of the screen was dim while the bottom bright and nothing would fix it.

However, my general review is "not worth it". The clarity at "native" resolution is excellent, but scrolling text, esp on a dark background takes some getting used to. Watching TV on it (via 8500dv) was good. Gaming was mixed, noticeable ghosting at native resolution, but not a show stopper. ANYTHING displayed in "non-native" resolution starts looking bad, and most games DO NOT support 1280x1024 resolution. And just FORGET about using your Windows desktop in anything other than 1280x1024 cause its hideous.

I could really use the desk space, but gotta have my 19" trinitron fd.

1280x1024 is actually a very good resolution for a 19" LCD. My 18" LCD runs at that and it is just slightly smaller than my 21" monitor at that resolution.

Anyways, is the deal gone? I click the link and it shows up as $799.

Just curious what games you've tried. EVERY game I've installed in the last year runs in 1280x1024, and thats like 20 games. Might be a driver issue with the 8500DV? Did you try your gf4?

Dude, it's $350!!! I can't buy a vid card whose cost is only 40% less than the 19" LCD that goes along with it

Ok, now I am confused, I read in another thread the 20 inch has serious picture quality issues --color banding issues across the middle of the monitor, and ghosting, but in this thread someone says the 19 inch has issues with ghosting image quality as well.

Do both these screens have that many image quality issues?

Can anyone contrast the 1900fp to the 20fp??

Mine has a bright spot at the very edge, about 1" from the bottom on the left hand side, It's like 1 inch long. Is this normal?? Other then that I'm pretty happy. CRT definitely still own. I have played UT2003, Q3, BF 1942, HL , and DAOC. Yes this is a very little bit of ghosting, but it not bad at all. I think it's a keeper..
