I run the ghosting test on their website, not good - worse than Mag 17" LCD (50ms) for me. Is there a software can tell the response time?

BTW, 3dmark 2001SE score is only 1050 !!!

What video card are you using? Or did you run the test on the 2350 with the oboard video?

If you ran it with the integrated video, that is the problem there. The test itself warns that a poor/low/cheap video card or chip will lead to poor performance.

I ran the test with my GF4 Ti4200 (DVI) with the DVI cable, no signs of even the slightest bit of ghosting, and no dead pixels either!

When I do the ghosting test for 1800FP, I am using ATI 8500 with another machine.

3Dmarks score is for 2350 onboard video, and looks very good with Mag 17" for the ghosting test.

I am really confused for the result. Will do more test today.

I ran the ghosting test with my ATI All In Wonder 7500 64MB through a DVI connection with my 1800FP and there were no problems.

The 1800FP is very sharp and bright, so there is a chance that your MAG is darker making ghosting harder to see? I know that with my 15" standard Dell LCD (non-ultrasharp) it is much darker and not nearly as clear as my 1800FP, I was really surprised because I used to LOVE my 15" LCD...now I don't quite as much since the arrival of my new 1800FP.

FYI...emailed Dell support about my dead pixel and they sent along this link:

So...if you have 5 or less dead pixels it is within "quality standards".

Did the person that called have any issues? Did you say you had 2 dead pixels and they just said they would send out a replacement or what??? Thanks.

Received my 1800FP yesterday and love it!! Except......now after and hour or two, I get a headache, and I know it's from the monitor. I've been staring at these monitors for over 20 years, up 5-6 hours at a time, and never got a headache. Anyone else???

I read the thread you posted and I am currently using my 1800FP to post this message in ClearType mode with BRG (instead of RGB) and it looks pretty good. However, in comparison to my Dell E151FPp 15" LCD it is a bit worse.

Nevertheless, I'm very happy with my 1800FP, and the ClearType "issues" are not significant enough to concern me. And I am on my computers for a considerable amount of time daily...not your typical check email/surf web a couple hours user.

I would definitely *not* be disheartened at this price. If you bought the setup for $600 +/- and sell the PC and the Zire you should be able to get the 1800FP for $250 or less...which is a GREAT price.

Anyone else having trouble with their order? First they screw up with billing my CC and put a hold on my order. Then they push the delivery date back to the 6th. Then they pushed it back to the 13th. Now they cancelled the entire order and reordered with delivery expected between May 20 and 22. I've pretty much lost faith in Dell. I'm about ready to just have them cancel my order.

PS. Just checked on the handheld, and that won't ship till June 12th! Unbelieveable! I ordered April 20th.

i ordered mys on the eve of the 19th and it WAS suppose to be here today(since this was the last day of hte delivery date)
but the postman drove by and i got nothing. It was handled by APX/USPS. so i called the main post office and the CS told me soemthing "weird" about my order...WTF?!?! and will give me a call when she gets more info on it. :|
anyway, i got my zire like last thursday already...selling it...
