I got in on this deal too.

I have the 2000FP right now and play UT2k3 on it... While it's true there is no ghosting, there are other noticeable problems. I don't know the technical terms though and I don't feel like explaining them I put up with it though. Afterall, besides in UT2k3, the 2000FP is awe inspiring.

I'm in....

Added the overpriced 48x CD-RW for resaleability. $646 aint bad at all. Also, when I changed out some memory from a Dimension 4550, the 128mb DDR stick was/is Samsung chips on Samsung PCB with the Samsung sticker still on it. Single-sided too.

Good call. I think having the CD-RW will help increase it's resaleability.

If he only got 5 it can't be much of a sneaky ebay money making scheme plus, what's so sneaky or scheming about it anyway? I get so tired of hearing people cry about others using this or any of the many other forums to find deals to resell. Are you worried about the market getting flooded or him undercutting you?

Actually most Dell deals expire at 11:00 PM CDT (central time).

Is the coupon still good or not?

Ok, got my two orders in: one for myself for the 18" LCD, and one for my college-bound sister. Question, though - I looked all over and couldn't find the answer - will upgrading any of the components (specifically the RAM) void the warranty? For my sister's comp I got the full 3-year warranty with onsite service, complete care, blah blah, but it needs a ram upgrade, so if I'm going to have warranty problems I'm going to need to call and cancel/modify my order.

Thanks in advance...

I just got in on this deal. $598 with tax and $5 shipping. Still a great deal. The cdrw might help resale on Ebay, but I don't think that you will get your money out of it. I don't know.. I haven't looked at the auctions yet.

Does anyone know what the specs are on the 18"? Is it digital or analog? Anyone have a link to the monitor (I'm assuming it's a rebadge something).

Nevermind I just read on the site that it say "digital" right next to it

I'm still interested in the specs if anyone has it, contrast ratio, viewing angel, response time.

heres a quick summary:
<SPAN class=SmallBodyText><FONT face=arial,sanserIf color=black size=1><SPAN class=BodyText><FONT face=arial,sanserIf color=black size=2>UltraSharp 1800FP 18-inch Flat Panel LCD Monitor </FONT></SPAN>

here's dell's

"tech specs"

the thing that is missing of course is the response time. however dell does provide us with the reassuring line that "<FONT face=Arial size=2>Fast response times provide superior clarity for moving images with ''no ghosting''. Whatever that means =)

hope this helps, I am anxiously awaiting mine.</FONT></FONT>

Ok I found the specs (it was right on their site, doh! again)

Hopefully this link works for everyone.

The 18" has some weaknesses, like a 30ms response time and a 350:1 contrast ratio, other than that it's decent.

Very nice monitor, on UT2k3 and CS I've noticed no ghosting, and its got a nice clear picture at its native resolution.

Move to one of the 5 states in the nation that don't charge tax or get a reseller license and apply for tax exempt status.

What video cards with digital outputs are you guys using for this 18" LCD?

Heh.. Nobody seems to be talking about the computer or the other freebie at all. It's all about the monitor I guess.

Woah there son, you obviously took that the wrong way!

I was in no way "bitching" about people reselling this stuff. Most people on here are like me anyways, they buy it, play around with it for a little bit, and resale it for the same price or more. I was more curious if maybe he had thought this through, made a few calculations, and found out he could pocket a bit of money, or get one of the LCD's for free Hell, I've got the credit line to buy 5 (is that the max #??), float the bill a month or two, then resell the stuff and hopefully get a LCD for free for myself........hrm......

I need some opinions, My parents are wanting a new computer they claim theirs is not fast enough. They currently have a PIII 1.0ghz 256mb sdram dell with a 19inch screen My mom has been compalining that she wants an LCD screen. They use the computer for alot of scanning and selling on ebay (ebay powerseller's). If I were to purchase this computer I would definitely be putting at least an additional 256 stick of ram. The only thing that bothers me about the computer is that it is a Celeron of which the ones I dealt with in the past for my own uses were junk (back in the under 1.0ghz days). Will this computer show a significant increase in power for them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
