I wouldn't count on that. I've heard that a lot of the drop in LCDs has to do with the massive drop off in business demand, who are normally the major consumers for LCDs at work and for laptops. If the economy picks up again and they start buying again-which they'll have to do eventually-prices could jump up again.

Actually, the market is picking up on lcds, thats why there are so many brands and models. Also, If im correct, lcds are out selling crts now. and apple doesnt offer anything but lcds, other than the emac, which is going to be fased out soon.

How bundled are Dell systems? Can you load Dell OEM windows if you upgrade the motherboard to a non Dell Motherboard? Does this system run DDR memory? I think there are reviews about how DDR bottlenecks Intel processors and this system may not really perform even if you do upgrade it. If this system is not really what you want you maybe better to sell the box and get another to go with the LCD.

I recently got a "too good to pass up" deal on a Compaq 6330 P4 2.4 GHz and I think it was basically the same motherboard, sold it, made a couple bucks. It was dog slow, my 1.2GHz AMD with a KT7 board "ran rings around it".

Ordered one for the LCD, I'll sell the box. Thanks for another hot deal.

It's funny how many ebay auctions there are that feature either just the system or just the LCD.

So far I've seen people selling the system for about $300-350, and the LCD for about $350-450.

They say its slow? geez. what OS are you running? For what they are doing, that is plenty fast enough. Get more ram, that may help. or a faster hdd. This celery will be a little faster, not enough to notice much. if you want a quick boost, reinstall the OS.

Not enough to notice? Don't forget, these celerons are rebranded P4's with the L2 cache cut in half. It will be double the Mhz, 4 times the bus speed. Not to mension moving to DDR memory and a much faster chipset on the board....
If this isn't a perfect upgrade for him I don't know what is. They are E-bay sellers for God's sake.

Buy this, add another stick or ram and Enjoy

Forgot to add that these are upgradeable to any P4 that has a 400mhz bus.

Pick up a P4 2.4 from Newegg for $130 and E-bay the 2.0 celly for $75 and you have a P4 for $55 more
