I'd really appreciate it.

I think by forum rules, you're not even allowed to request coupons thru PMs now.

didnt know that.

oh well, I changed my mind anyways as soon as I found out that the motherboard in that system didnt say anything about having an AGP which would royally stink if someone wanted to upgrade some day.

Official word is that they aren't honoring the deal. I got no confirmation so I called to get an order update.

Before you start flaming, no I didn't give them any information, so I didn't "spoil the deal."

I just asked what was up with my order. The guy very calmly stated that they aren't processing my order because it was mispriced.

Oh well...

Crap, my dad really needed those systems.

He's currently running 4 Pentium 1 systems with Win95.

I just ordered but when I got to the confirmation, it dropped my 10% coupon code noted that it was not compatable. I pressed on with the order anyways.

Trying to figure out exactly what I paid but Dell.com is having some troubles...

This deal is still on for me at least...

In case you weren't aware, there was also this same price erro on the home side ( I learned from Fatw) and you could get nearly the exact same system for$419 instead of $409 before discount. The home side gave you a free HD upgrade but would not let you use the 10% off coupon, if I remember correctly. Anyways, I ordered the 2350 from the home side because the monitor sale they were having on the 1800FP that day was only good for the home side.

Bottom line, my order is set to be shipped tomorrow. I will see if I can dig up an email of my shopping cart with the old price form the home side.

Dear Sir/Maam:

We have received and reviewed your order. Unfortunately, the pricing on the system(s) you ordered was an error and the order cannot be fulfilled. While, as our web pages indicate, Dell cannot be responsible for errors in web content, we would like to offer you an exclusive discount on top of Dell's everyday low pricing through the Small Business website.

First, you will reveive a 10% discount coupon for any Dell Dimension purchase of $399 or more made through the Dell Small Business site at http://www.dell.com/us/en/bsd/products/series_dimen_desktops.htm .

During the check-out process, use your exclusive coupon code ************ to get 10% off your next Dell Dimension system business purchase.

In addition to this 10% discount, when your order value is $599 or more, you are eligible for an additional 10% discount. During the check-out process, use the second coupon code ************ to receive this additional 10% off your Dimension order. These special disounts will remain valid through Midnight on Tuesday, January 28, 2003, and aren't combinable with other promotions offered by Dell Computer Corp. Tax and shipping are excluded form this coupon offer.

We apologize for any inconvience this error has caused for your business.

Thank you for choosing Dell

Yeah I got the same thing. Except they sent me 2 emails.

The first had this mistake:

"In addition to this 10% discount, when your order value is $599 or more, you are eligible for an additional 101% discount. During the check-out process, use the second coupon code ************ to receive this additional 10% off your Dimension order. These special disounts will remain valid through Midnight on Tuesday, January 28, 2003, and aren't combinable with other promotions offered by Dell Computer Corp. Tax and shipping are excluded form this coupon offer."

And whats up with its only valid for like 2 days? I needed those systems and they give me a coupon for two days only!

Has anyone had any experience writing complaint letters to Dell? I am fed up with them and just wondered what strategy works best. I was going to try planetfeedback, their customer support e-mail addy and a written letter to the president of Dell. Any advice would be appreciated. I know the FTC, BBB and attorney general are out there as well, but I would rather have something go out directly to Dell.

If you got an order number and such I'll bet you have a decent argument for getting your system.

I got the immediate order acknowledgement - but never got any confirmation with order number, customer number, etc. I did get the "error-we won't fill the order" email today tho.

And I can't believe the coupon they sent me for 10% off is only good for a whopping 2 days!! Yeeesh!

Call them. Talk to a CSR and demand to speak to a manager. If they don't co-operate 100%, write a letter to the President. It's worked for my dad and I in the past.. Wrote to Mercedes about problems in one of their cars. They gave my dad crap, so we wrote to the President about the poor service we received and how we were deeply dissapointed. Got a letter back about a week later. They offered to fix the problems for free.

Calling had absolutely no effect. All I was told was that it was a VPs decision and that there was no one to talk to. Tried on a couple occasions.

WTF ... so much bitching and moaning about an obvious mistake - come on

At least you got 21% of the next order over 599 - that's $125 or more.

So just go and order the system again, hit 599 and get it for 475 probably nicer equipped

Am I the only one who didn't get their order cancelled? Sorry for you folks that did, it seems the massive number of orders on the SB side must have distracted them from the same mistake on the home side of things. It seems this is the only time I have ever been happy that the separation between Dell home and Dell SB exists.

Edit : shipped today, whoot
