Dell e-mails are notoriously wrong. I have gotten shipping notices AFTER delivery!

Just keep an eye on your order status at the Dell web site - THAT will let you know when it actually ships. I'll be surprised if your monitory is not shipped within the next week.

Well, I ran 3dmark2k1 and 3dmark2k3 on this monitor and the results are absolutely stunning. I would say that I MIGHT have seen a little smearing on the first demo on 2k1 (the red truck) but it was not significant. I tried to connect to a RTCW : ET game server but I could not for some reason so I have no FPS experience. This monitor is hooked up to my Connect3D Radeon 9500np via DVI cable.

Tonight I plan on installing my new refurb 2500+ Barton from NewEgg and seeing what it can do. After that, I'll be trying to get on ET again.

I bought the 1901FP and got it last week. I really loved it but personally, the ghosting is just a little bit too much for me. When I play CS I can notice people trailing a little bit when they run in front of me. Also, when I move my view around, everything blurs a bit (more so than other monitors I've had). After playing CS a while, I would get a bit dizzy. I exchanged the 1901FP with a friend who bought a new 1800FP (he paid me the difference), and I can say I feel a lot more comfortable when I game. Basically, the 1901FP probably ghosts the least of any 19" LCD, but it's still not good enough in my opinion. I would get the 1800FP (20% off right now) if there's going to be fast games involved. Otherwise, the 1901FP is a gorgeous monitor with more side perks (USB, rotate, height adjustment). Hope this helps.

ack with the last post above, it gives me a 2nd thought on this monitor. i wanted the 19 cause i told my self not to downgrade size for LCD. but gaming is a big part of my life, the ghosting and dizzy thing might be a problem. and the deal is it good or should i hold out for even longer, since it seems last weeks deal was 30% off instead of 25%

Keep your hopes up. I got a notice of a much later expected ship date, and it showed up with Fedex two days after I ordered. I never got the shipping notice.

How big is your monitor now? An 18" lcd is about the same viewing size as a 19" crt, and going much bigger than that would probably hinder you playing performance (19" crt is my sweetspot). My friends bought an nec 17" lcd at the begining of the summer in dell's super deal for like $340. It has a 16ms response time and there is absolutely no ghosting whatsoever. On 20ms and above I was able to notice some ghosting. The size was perfectly fine too. I have been using top-of-the-line 19" sony crt's for the last 10 years and I would be more than happy to lose the inch and use one of those. As soon as a 17" lcd with 16ms response time and DVI drops below $350 I am there.

Fortunately for me I have convinced my dad to get a bunch of them from dell for his company, so I will probably be able to worm my way into 1 or 2 of them.
