Most recent Dell offer:
10/28
Definitely nooooot hot!
No discount, no rebate, no extra memory, no HD upgrade, and the celery is the base processor.
link not working?
Yup, they made their numbers. Tune in few months, maybe something might happen. In the meantime, they seem to have shifterd theor deals to the PE SC420 for $323 AR +tax
10/21
Looks like they've made their numbers or got as much stock out the door without taking a beating because the deal looks thin now.
No outragreous deal on the PE400SC as of posting.
Link dead.
Good: free 512 MB upgrade
free upgrade to 80 GB HD
+$60 for 160 GB SATA HD
Bad: celery processor
no further discounts (or rebates)
deal condition: ice, ice baby

10/14
The link dead is $299, no rebate hassle.
free upgrade to 512 memory is back!
80 GB HD upgrade + $20
160 GB SATA or PATA + $60
downside - offers the celeron and not a P4 (+$99 for the 2.8 upgrade = $398)
deal condition: warm
The link dead is $399 and no rebate.
free 2.8 P4 upgrade
80 GB HD upgrade + $20
160 GB SATA or PATA + $60
downside - offers only 128 MB RAM
deal condition: cold
If there was some way we could combine the two deals...

Use the outrageous deal link below.
In the regular sales path:
Same as last weeks deal except the upgrade 80 GB HD is now just $20
$349 after $50 instant discount, AR ($100)
There were some email coupons floating around for the past two days that offered up to (and not always) 25% off the purchase price. These coupons also removed the $50 instant discount. Unfortunately, these expired 10/06 (Wednesday night)
Deal condition: warm (Yes, it is better than last week's with cheaper HD upgrade. But as long as the memory stays at 128 MB and hardware PCI-X cards are starting to produce inventory, the deal could be better.)
EDIT:link fixed, cheaper 400SC ($26, in fact + no rebate hassles)
Also, the Dell outrageous deal link has been added to this thread. It appears to offer the same configuration for $323 after $275 instant discount. No rebate hassle.
