How would this be for photo editing and if it is good for photo editing, can anyone recommend a good dual head video card to go along with it. I am not a gamer so that wouldn?t be a concern.

i could be in the wrong here, but to support WQXGA, i think you will need something that has at least dual DVI and 256MB GRAM

Note that you need a card with "Dual Link DVI", not a card with "Dual DVI" outputs.

Oh and btw, price =

"Dual DVI" means it has two DVI outputs.

"Dual Link DVI" means it is able to support resolutions higher than 1920x1200 (the limit for single link DVI) through DVI. I don't have knowledge about specific models having this feature or not. If you can get to a page about specs on the card at the manufacturer's site, you should see it listed if it supports it.

I'm not totally sure the 1920x1200 res is the exact limit for single link, but single link is definitely not going to get you 2560x1600 that you need for this display.

The only thing stopping me is that if I did this, I'd end up getting a new videocard... and thus a new motherboard.... and then possibly processor and ram while I was at it This $1000 monitor would probably end up being closer to $2k after the dust settled.

Would I really want this vs. replacing my front speakers with RS850s? Probably not

Why not the Onix Stata Mini?

Why not the Onix Stata Mini?

Wouldn't match Bigfoot

If I wanted a nice two channel system, I would be all over those

Go tell Agaboogaboo to sell his Paradigm Studio 60s and get the Minis, he needs more input on the matter

Sorry to de-rail your thread, EKKC. This is an incredible deal.

indeed. Bigfoot is pretty nice,

Very sweet deal on the monitor, btw. Unfortunately, I have a Radeon 9800pro and Athlon 1800+. Something tells me I would have to spend a little bit more than the 1000$ just to get the nice goodness of 2560x1600

Yup, my reasons were similar, but in addition to that I just bought a 24inch LCD a few months ago ... My mobo is ok, my CPU is ok, my RAM is ok, but I would want something with a bit more power than my x1800xt to attempt to do anything at it's native res.

LOL! I've been thinking of using my Apple "winnings" for the same purpose.

If the AGP x1950 was in my hand right now, I would have to buy this. This price is incredible!
