Act like it's more than you want to spend. They will give you one tire for free. In my case they wanted $97 per tire on Pirelli 3000. I said not really in the market to buy today. The salesman called over the manager and he reduced the price by $97 to get me to buy today. Don't accept a cheaper tire, which they will try to sell you. Just act like you aren't ready to buy today. Valves are free, and balancing is $12 per tire. Also, there is a $30 coupon discount online at DT you can use until 10/29 I believe.YMMV

NTB near me priced match TireRack (including shipping), I just brought in the print-out showing OTD price and they matched that - so I paid tax on top of TireRack price without having to wait (my car got 2 flats on worn tires already, so I'd rather not have waited for shipping). But in the end it's up to the guy at the counter or store manager - so YMMVOriginally posted by: Thump553

The last time I bought tires from Tirerack I called Discount Tire and asked if they could match or beat the price (they advertise they will beat anyone's price, including internet dealers). They said they could and they could on the brand and size of tires I asked about, but I had to come down. Since DT was near where I wanted to eat lunch, I went down, spoke in person with the same (assistant manager) I spoke with on the phone. To make a long story short, no price match, just a hard sell to buy a no-name Chinese tire instead.
I've bought from the Discount Tire store before, but never again.
NOTE-Discount Tire is a B&M chain, apparently different from the Discount Tire Direct this thread is about.

thanks, OP. Got a set of P205-65-15s (I BADLY need new tires). The only issue is I don't have the equipment to mount/balance, so it's going to cost another $80 for that. Even with that added cost, it's about $90 cheaper than buying them through a local tire shop. That savings will pay for an alignment!
Great deal!
I've never seen it before myself, but I don't follow tire sales at all.Originally posted by: isekii

Great to hear, thanks!Originally posted by: Crucial
The tires I ordered on the 18th just shipped. My second order from this morning had the poossible delay message. I'm not worried at all.
