I'm going to go get the last one in town in the morning for another build.
Even if the PS did usck as bad as they say, the case alone is worth more than $19.99.
(I did paint the silver parts on the fron bezel gloss black, it looks alot nicer that way!)

What brand of paint did you use? I thought the case was kinda ugly, but you may be on to something with the black paint. Any pics?

Bump for pictures.....

I got two of these earlier this morning and I completely agree that the case alone was worth the $20. Nice features like a tool-free chassis, included and premounted fans that use the plastic clips instead of screws, standoffs already being put in, front bezel release, etc....The sturdiness of the case also is also a surprise (I was expecting cheap/thin steel).

The PSU is decent as long as you're aware it's a prebundled unit and treat it more like a 350 than 500. I really like the quick release tabs on the PSU and the fully sleeved cables are also a great plus.

Sorry for all of you that missed out.........glad I finally got in on a BestBuy deal that wasn't out of reach.

I used Krylon gloss black.
The pics are crappy, but it shows what I painted.
I basically just painted the whole bezel gloss black to get rid of the ugly grey front grille, and side accents.
Krappy Case Pic!

Edit: Wow that pic looks even worse than I thought! I took the buttons and lights off the bezel (no lights actualy, just clear plastic that transfers the light) and painted the rest.
I don't usually paint button as the paint ends up wearing off and looking bad. I may paint the drive faces later on if I get picky.

This is probably the most important thing to consider when using cheap PSU's. If I had any more stuff (SLI cards, etc), I would upgrade the PSU for sure.

I was a bit surprised to see a firewire port up front on this case. Since I snagged a couple of these cases and hate having my relatives/customers complain about non-working ports, is there a cheap & easy way to get this thing 100% functional by way of a PCI firewire card with the proper headers on it to attach the front port?

If so, any links to any particular cards/brands of firewire cards? It's been a long time since I've messed with DV editing and even longer since I shopped for 1394-related hardware!

This case is an excellent value. You would need to spend 100 to match the integrity of the case alone. The power supply is probably about midway between a cheap ps and a very good one. Unless you are building a power hungry system this power suppy is more than adequate. If you are building a gamer then toss it and get something else. By the way if you are tossing it you can toss it my way, i'd rather have this ps than alot of the cheap junk thats out there.

It's a heavy bastard of a case, that's for sure! The front panel cables are labelled to be easily read as well, something I'm not used to.

I picked one up during lunch today. There weren?t any on the shelf but, I looked up and there was one left on top of the shelves.

I don't have an immediate purpose for the case but opened it up to take a look.

Nice case

Front panel pops off easy with the little levers they setup.

Filters on all the intake fans.

Slide latch to lock the side on so you don't have t use the thumb screws

Tool-less expansion slots

Lots of feature and overall a well thought out case. For $20 I'm happy.

Thanks OP

Sweet deal. Just got the last one in Madison, WI east side store. This deal just solved my problems. I built my buddy a PC with the IP35-E board from newegg with an e2180 from Tigerdirect for 50AR. Anyways the thing would not OC at all and I could not figure out why. Even cranking the voltage way way up did not solve anything. I built his PC with the Thermaltake 430 PSU from newegg (the really popular cheap PSU on newegg). Anyways that would have been a decent PSU for his fairly modest system however it does not have the 8 pin 12V CPU power cable (only has the 4 pin). The Abit IP35-E board has the 8 pin PSU plug on the mobo. While the manual says you can use your 4 pin plug it also says that the 8 pin plug is recommended. After much trial and error I pulled the thermaltake PSU and replaced it with my Neopower 500 that I am saving for my build to test the theory that the lack of the 8 pin connector was causing no overclocking possibility. Turns out this solved the problem and allowed me to OC the e2180 to 3.0 Ghz with barely any voltage increase.

Not wanting to sell my Neopower PSU to my buddy I found this deal in hopes that the PSU would have the 8 pin connector (It does yay). Now I known this PSU is not really 500 watts as stated earlier but it should be fine for my buddies build. The case itself is just another added perk. I was expecting a junky best buy brand throw away but it turns out it is pretty nice. It has locking side with 120mm fan on the back and side intake fan as well. Now off to throw this PSU into my buddies and give it some juice for the OC.

I grabbed the last one off the shelf in Chico CA. Asked the floor rep to price check it for me before I lugged the case to the front register. He said no WAY would this be on sale since the cheapest 500 PSU was around the same price. As soon as the price check showed $19.99, his eyes immediately start scanning the upper shelves. Too funny!

Thanks OP!!

Got one today in NC... Think they had 1 left.

Looks like a nice case... the main reason I got it was for a new power supply with sata connectors

It's not a great looking case, but for the price - it can't be beat...

The layout of the inside of the case still wows me with its ease of accessibility - it has been about the best 21.99 I've ever spent.

and Soundmanred, thanks for your posts and PMs - you helped me find the problem I was having - and now I'm enjoying my new rig with this case and psu...

Glad to hear it. I've built three systems now using this case and PSU, and they are all overclocked and running smoothly. The case definitely looks better after the paint job! It looks alot less "cheap". I've got my Intel Dual Core and G. Skill badges on it and it looks even better with some decoration. I need an MSI or Nvidia sticker now...

Ok I found one a few days ago at one bestbuy and picked it up...... thought it was a nice case...... yesterday I was at a different bestbuy and they had none on the shelves and no tag but I saw 5 Up on the top shelves at the back of the store...... I ask one off the bestbuy guys to get me all five but do a price check on one first. When he saw the price he new why I was getting them all.

I have a bunch of servers / test systems setup and the are currently in diferent cases it will look nice to have them all in the same boxes. Most already have good psus so I will swap those with the rest of the components.

I think I got a little greedy LOL

Warning, vitriol ahead.

I fVck1nG HATE Best Buy! I usually stay away from the BB deals, but I guess every few months the sour feeling fades, and greed takes over....

I go to the store, run across the lazy, incompetent staff, hidebound by the labyrinthine bureaucracy that only a huge company can support, and it all comes back to me.

Not only is the deal dead for sure in the Rockville, MD store, the same applies to the brains of the staff, all the way up to the highest ranking person who was actually on duty at 6:30 pm on a Sunday evening.

Went to Bowie, MD Store on Saturday, and came out feeling the same way. The only thing saving them was the cute girl that keep asking if I needed help. She was clueless, but a nice a$$ so I let it slide.
