The only thing good about this ECS board is, it support 166MHz bus. On-board accessaries include AC 97 and U a few USB2. Nothing else.

Excellent price on a pretty good MB. I don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but you're not going to do much in the way of overclocking with this board. I built one for my brother and already know that this board is definitely not an overclocker's board. And the one I built had Raid. Definitely a nice board though.

The CPU did run pretty stable at 1910MHz (166MHz FSB) at default voltage. I touched the heatsink, it was kind of warm . However, when I got into BIOS...CPU was indicated running at 87C. Really HOT!!! Hahhaha...

Difference between the versions... Some versions (ones with optional RAID) use a larger PCB footprint.

V1 - KT266
V2 - KT266A
V3 - KT333 (266FSB/PC2700 support)
V5 - KT333CE (333FSB support)
V6 - KT333CE (2 DIMMs/smaller PCB/no RAID)
V7 - KT333CF (basically a 'crippled' KT400 - no AGP8X but better KT400 based memory controller)
V8 - KT333CF (2 DIMMs/smaller PCB/no RAID)

I got the Tbred-B 2200+ deal and the V5 board last month for 85 bucks. Thing overclocks to 2800+ with no problem (supposedly better AIUHB/wk35 chip). The board doesn't do voltage mods, but you can do it easily via the socket itself by using thin wire (no need to solder, just drop in the socket).

I'd say it's better in overall performance. Last I read, the SiS chipset didn't perform as well as their VIA counterparts. The board does come with the onboard LAN option.

I just got off the phone with Mohammad @ FRY's Sunnyvale (408.617.1300) He said he's been very busy "running around all morning filling orders" for this Mobo/Combo. No one is answering @ FRY's / Freemont (510.252.5300). It just rings & rings. (Verified the phone # with the FRY's location). I hope this location also has the rev5 version & the "B" stepping JIUHB CPU. I went for it & ordered it. We'll see in a few days.
