I don't think that these "2010" drives are SandForce.

Their page claims 3-year warranty and free tech-support. Sounds like a deal to me. If I didn't just spend $400 on some 2TB Hitachi HDs, I would be all over this.

Edit: Read/Write/Buffer specs match that of the Indilinx Barefoot controller

Seems that these may not support TRIM?

Edit: Price is good. CostCentral wants $175 for the 128MB model.

Nice price, unfortunately they're not SF's controllers. Hopefully, this will be the price of SSD comes BF!

Yeah says it has a 64MB buffer, definitely not SandForce. Maybe Indilinx or one of the newer improved JMicron controllers. Still looks great for the price, though, especially the 128GB drive.

I picked up a 128gb, I'll keep you guys posted after I run the beast, is there any way to tell what the controller is by running a program? Or do you have to open them?

Andrew,

Thank you for contacting Edge Tech Customer Support. These SSD's have been sold out except for the 256GB model. The 256GB model uses a Phison controller.

Lol wut controller?
Andrew,

We had 128GB SSD’s with different controllers. It will most likely be a Jmicron or Phison.

What's so great about SF controllers? I've had nothing but trouble with mine.

Sandforce made a name for themselves with their first generation controllers offering some of the fastest SATA2.0 performance, decent reliability, and most importantly for a fair price (as far as SSDs went)

right now they're still sort of riding that early steam rolling success they had and are living off that previous reputation as their current generation controllers combined with the downsides of current generation NAND leave a lot to be desired as far are reliability goes

of course as far as raw performance goes, if they could fix their issues they'd be steam rolling as they were before, but as things currently stand the average SSD is more than fast enough and thus reliability and cost effectiveness have a far greater roll this generation than last
