$410-$50 off = $360 + tax - $110 rebate - $50 rebate = $200+ (USA only)
Scored one at a local store + 2 two printout rebates
PCLink

BM store prints out 2 rebates. You can see the rebate in Fatwallet.
PM me if you want the PDF files or proof of the rebates.

Estimate cost:
$50 - WinXP home
$45 ? DVD dual layer RW drive
$40 ? 80GB hard dirve
$25 ? 256MB RAM
$25 ? Motherboard + Case+ power supply
$25 ? CPU
$??? ? Labor to set up the PC + warranty
-----
$210 total price if you could get the components at the above price and build it yourself

The Fountain Valley store (CA) is not honoring the $50 instant discount, while the Hawthorne store still does - approx 4:55PM Pacific time.
----
It runs real well with another 512MB.
-------
21 Dec 05 - Fry's has the 1GB (2x512)PC3200 Dual channel memory for $60AR.

Rebates are evil. Each of the last 3 products I purchased involved rebates that were rejected for reasons that were blatant lies. After a bunch of bitching they finally said they would send them out. No more rebates for me. Rebates + ignorant people = big win for the manufacturer/merchant!

Are you saying you're ignorant?

I hate rebates too, but rarely do I screwed by one. BB, Office Depot, and Office Max rebates have been pretty good to me.

Same here, I only see the $50 rebate.

Any thought on whether this machine is worth getting for $200? Been wanting to get the parents a cheap but sizable upgrade from the PIII 500mhz one they're currently using...

Not sure if emachine's quality has improved over the last 6 years or so...

I think the quality has improved. I've had three in the past four or five years, and they were all solid computers. My ONLY complaint about them is that they take an OEM systemboard, and cripple the bios with a propriatory bios so you can't overclock it. Other than being stuck at factory speeds, it was great.

Just my $.02

Last I checked Compaq, HP, Sony, Gateway etc never include overclocking options in their MB BIOS's. I wouldn't think that bobodeluxe eMachines would be any different.

Heh, yes, perhaps I should clarify. Is it worth getting for $200 compared to other budget PC's out there (i.e. Dell B110)? I never really looked into the budget CPU's much, but was suprised at the 3100's performance vs. a P4 2.8 linky

Comparibly priced machines from Dell would have the Celeron D 325. Considering the Sempron 3100 is worth $100 alone, I might just pick one of these up for a last minute xmas present. Thanks OP!

I have essentially the same computer. An E-machines 3101+. After I deleted most of the preloaded crap and added another 512 meg of memory, the thing hums along pretty darn good.. It has a FIC mobo, Mine has a Hitachi HD. A little noisey by what the heck.
DVD-RW is a Liteon.
Don't expect to run the latest games.

A paid $250 after rebates about 4 months ago at CC.

If you don't get the $110 rebate its not that good of a deal.

BTW, the Sempron is a 90 nm core.

I agree.

I own a emachine m6805 laptop, and I love it, I've had it for aabout 18 months now, I had one problem with the hard drive dieing, but that's not an emachine issue, that's a me being clumbsy issue, I called them up, and they sent me out a new HD. Go ahead and search around the web for the m6805, m6807, m6808, m6809, m6810, and m6811's people love them. After my experience with the m6805, I'd buy another emachine in a heartbeat.

So for us regulars in the USA,
Is it supposed to be $360 after instant rebate and then has a $50 rebate and a $110 rebate as well to bring the price to about $200?

I went to our local CompUsa and they had it for 199 AR with 2 rebates, I think it was the 110 and 50 rebates. (409-50-110-50=199)

My local CompUSA has it for $409 - $110 Rebate and a -$50 rebate. That other $50 instant rebate isn't here. BASTARDS!

I picked mine up last night at Franklin Mills in Philadelphia. Rang up as expected at 359 after the IR.

I couldn't help but chukle as each person that I came in contact with tried to sell me the $79 warranty.

But then I got angry when the one guy said "You're making a big mistake. eMachines use all proprietary parts that you won't be able to upgrade or replace." Proprietary parts???? As much as I wanted to call him either a moron or a lying scumbag trying to trick people into buying the warranty, I had alot more xmas shopping to do and just wanted to get out of there with my $199 computer and be on my way. Perhaps I'll write a letter to CompUSA about their intentional misleading of customers who wouldn't know any better.

Can any of you who have bought this comp tell me if there are OC capabilities? I've read alot of negatives as far as OC'ing this PC is concerned.

Thanks
