Ok here is the info from somebody who purchased and resold 4 of these back when they were $250.00 after rebates. ME!

They come with FIC Motherboards, this excat one here: http://www.fic.com.tw/product/motherboard/amd/k8m-800m.aspx

they come with the Emachines bios which has no real overclocking, or voltage control, or ram timings.

I did flash one of mine with the FIC bios, and it worked fine, and gave me a few extra options in the bios, like ram timings, but still no voltage control or overclocking,

Clock Gen does not support this chipset or motherboard so, there is no overclocking there.

A64 tweaker allowed me to raise the fsb I thikn i can't quite remeber now, but since there was no was to uo the core volts or ram volts, it would always lock up immediately.

So basically no overclocking with this motherboard!!!

these are great machine because they use all off the shelf parts to propieatary stuff, the dvd-rw vary, i have seen nec/lite-on, or samsung i think.

and body has any more questions, ask away.

they do have SATA raid controller, but you can't use the restore disc when useing raid, so you would have to bin the win Xp home install.

I put a 6800gt in one and it ran fine with the stock power supply, also i put a 9800pro in another.

These are pretty good machines, but only run stock speed.

the chipset is the same speed and performance as a KT800, so it is only slightly slower than a NF3/4 board, not really noticeable at all.

it is a great machine for the price of the cpu and the OS, you get a complete computer.

oh yeah i also tried 2gb or ram in 1 and it worked fine too, you could make a nice budget gameing rig by adding a 1gb stick of ram $75.00 about, and any AGP good card from $100 to $300.00.

It rings at $409 at my local CompUSA!!!!!!!

I wanted that damn extra $50.

How do you compare this to this deal at best buy? $300 after $300 rebate for basically the same machine but with a 17 inch CRT monitor and junk printer????
$300 after $300 rebates
Worth it to risk $300 in rebates? I know the monitor isn't great but it is going to be a secondary monitor to my 20 lcd

Comments???

The Difference between the 2 is:

CompUSA T3114 has an smaller 80 Gig Drive, but has a DVD Burner
BestBuy T3104 has a larger 100 Gig Drive, but has only a CD burner, and also has a multi card reader

Personally it seems like the Compusa model is a slight bit better overall.........anyone agree or disagree?
Overall, Bestbuy it looks like you are getting a crappy monitor and a printer for free after rebate I guess

I agree with you, itakey. I don't know if the monitor and printer are worth the extra $100. The DL DVD burner on the Compusa one would seal it for me.

I think I'm going to pick one up.

This is pulled from Slick Deal, which was pulled from Fatwallet.

Just returned T3114 back to CompUSA and got Office Depot's T3302 instead(Read it on FW) :

- Processor is 0.2Ghz faster
- 512Mb RAM
- 160Gb HD
- no DVD burner though, just DVD/CD-RW drive
- 8 in 1 media reader
- everything else the same(5 USB slots instead of 6)

Price = $249.99 - $50 eMachines MIR = $199.99
I also paid $15 less in tax !! And no $110 MIR to deal with.

I hope you guys knoe about this deal too, its a lot less money upfront, and only a $50.00 rebate to do.

It essentially the same machine, ie: same motherboard with a faster processor and more ram and a bigger hard drive + a memroy card reader, but - dvd-rw DL

No rebate for T3302 from Office Depot.
(That $50 rebate is only for Compusa.)

$210 total price if you could get the components at the above price and build it yourself

$25 for a sempron? Cheapest I can find any Sempron is around $60.

At any rate - is the FIC motherboard a propietary size or is it plain ol mATX? I'm assuming you can probably upgrade the CPU with an A64 (new heatsink required probably...)?

Yes i put a 3200+ a64 retail box in a friend of mines, it supports uo to a 3600+ according to the FIC website, considering that does not exsist, i would think it wpould support the 3700+, but i can only verify the 3200+ A64 works fine, for months now, no problems at all.

"At any rate - is the FIC motherboard a propietary size or is it plain ol mATX?"

the motherboard picture and specs, etc. are at emachinesupgraders.info
i have the same motherboard and using the a64 3000+ that came with it (T6405), just got through playing gtasa for a few on it
it is regular size, but someone reported a while back that emachines glues it to the inside of the case
have not bothered to check

"I've read alot of negatives as far as OC'ing this PC is concerned."

if it comes with a 300w bestec, replace it if adding a fx 5900/6800/7800 etc

The "T3302" doesn't burn Cds does it? The sempron 3300+ is 64 bit though . I don't think the Sempron 3100+ in the 3114 is 64 bit. correct me if I'm wrong...

I think this deal is completely dead. The $110 rebate was only for purchases up to 12/24.

Regarding the 3104, when I look at it that's $25 more for only 20GB, and you lose a DVD burner and 1 USB port. Can't be picky, I guess.
