It would be roughly a third faster, I think. You've got a killer overclock on that 460.

It's up to you whether or not it's worth it.

How much memory? If it's 768 MB, then you'd get a speed increase plus double your memory.

Bah!! I bit lol. It's a 1gb 460, however I have an accelero on it which literally keeps it at about 52c full load. I'm sure I'll have some fun overclocking the 480 with this cooler and the extra memory will be nice for BF3. I run at 19x12 res.

Guess some lucky guy is about to get a hell of a deal on these 2 460's and this 990FX board I've got sittin around . I'll report back on the overclock.

Once again, Termie, you come up with another hot deal. I shall forthwith exercise my willpower and abstain from this one. There's an unused 560ti sitting in my closet right now.

This is a hot deal, no doubt. Discover Card holders, don't forget about the 6% cash back from TD.

Nice deal...I bit on it for two. It's kind of a sidegrade for me as I'm running a pair of crossfired 5870's but frankly am sick of dealing with AMD's crossfire driver issues as of late. This should do nicely while I wait on the high end Kepler chip. Shouldn't cost me too much after selling the 5870's either.

Definitely not a side grade. I went from dual 5870s to dual GTX 480s and the difference was substantial.

I had three of these in tri-SLI at one point, but that rig was blowing the wind of hades out the back. Switched to two of them water-cooled and was one of the highest performing, most stable configs I've had the pleasure of running. I was actually disappointed when I moved to dual 6970s (although not so much with the reduction in my electric bill). Water cooling these things is really the only way to go IMO.

Man, this thing is still in stock at both places, and still tempting me. But I just know if I buy this 480 now, that a super deal on a GTX 570 or 580 will pop up after the Keplers arrive. If only this deal had come up last week while I still had that $40 Newegg code. :\

I'm runnign a single Asus eah 5870 voltage tweak edition, so it has a nice OC on it. Would this really be enough of an upgrade to bite? Or should I wait for new technology?

Im running this card on an Asrock 890fx deluxe3, so I have no options for SLI, only xfire. My PSU is a Corsair 750tx(4x 6+2 pin power connectors). As some have stated, the performance with xfire in most games is blah, so I havent gone SLI. Kinda rambling now, but any imput is dandy. FYI, I only play Skyrim, and MW3 ATM.

In for 1. Replacing my 5850, and might sell it on the F/S forums. A 3D application I intend to use in the near future only runs on a GTX 480 or 580. Also some other 3D simulation software I want to run needs the nvidia Cuda engine, so this is the perfect timing.

I can attribute at least four deals that I've pulled the trigger on thanks to Termie. This was now the fifth! Score! Bit on it from NewEgg.

Wow... With no rebate to deal with, it's an amazing price. You can't even get one used on eBay for that price once you pay shipping.

I caved and ordered from TigerDirect, $209 after the Discover CashBack. Should be a nice upgrade from my current GTX 285. Im anxious to see how much difference there is in graphic details going from DX10 to DX11 in BF3.

Great price, but I will pass due to the excessive heat and power use.
Was thinking the same thing but after looking at this comparison http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/317?vs=309 there isnt a huge difference between the 480 and my current 285. My HAF 932's giant fans should negate the heat and I can turn off a 60 watt bulb somewhere in the house and make up the 'under load' power difference.

Using that anandtech bench comparo thing vs a 6950, this thing sucks down a whopping 129w more in crysis. Wow

I think I'll pass. Great price though for those living in cold places like someone said before.
