the forms are screwed up, if you submit it online it says officemax will take copies of both the receipt and the UPC code too.

if you do it online you only need to send 1 letter too, as it processes both rebate together.

Just did this myself. It DOES WORK!

I waited on hold for ~10 minutes.

The CSR said she needed to charge my credit card the full amount, but said it would immediately be refunded. Seemed fishy, but I can check my account online to look for the charge and refund. If anything fishy happens I can go into a B&M.

The shipping was free too!

Said to call back in a few days and maybe they'd have some in stock.

It worked!!!!! Kind of. I called up about 30 minutes ago. After I tried PMing, the CSR said it was out of stock. So I called back to another CSR. First I asked if it was in stock, she said yes. Then I tried to PM. The CSR then put me on hold for about 20 minutes. Finally she came back and said she would do this. She would charge me $39.99, but after it's been shipped she would give me a $39.98 refund making it cost 1 cent. So it's suppose to ship on Friday. We'll see if she gives me the refund. If not, I'll just return it.

Well The Staple's Home Office is saying that the orders are on hold while they investigate whether or not they can do this. Those that have sucessfully ordered are good to go I think but us late comers have some mountains to climb.

Just to keep us as loyal customers. OM is their main competitor, so they'll do anything to take sales away from them.

Of course in this case, you can just buy 1 stick of ram from each place.

Lady sounded slighty tired/annoyed when I called, said she could not sell it for free, I was just about to object when she said "yes, I can't sell it for free, I have to charge you......a penny"

I think this is most likely going to be "the straw that breaks the camels back", after this I get the feeling staples is going to amend their policy so its like everyone else's, and they won't PM after rebate prices.
