I didn't order myself because they seem to be out now and I don't feel like hassling with them on the phone to try and get one. I was taking a test when this deal dropped =( and it took me forever to get home. Oh well =P you win some you lose some.

DEAD - tried to order and Staples is out of stock, called CSR and she said they ran out after everyone P/M office-max, my local staples would not PM the manu. rebate, Only the $40 rebate. I'm a long time reader of the boards and thought I'd sign up to let you all know. This Forum is GREAT

Updating my update. They are out of stock. Fortunately for me they screwed up my order so when it comes in in 5 to 7 days the back order dept is going to call me to make me aware and then ship. So for those of you who placed these orders it may pay off to call and verify your orders status.

Also as far as the process works they will charge you 42.88 or so and then turn around and do a refund. So watch your credit cards and bank statements. Good Luck to all who placed orders!!

It was out of stock when I tried to call for this. Went to the local B&M and they had about 10 of them instock. Doesn't their online inventory go by the stores?


When I tried to PM it they said they will not PM the rebates. I told him they are doing just that online but charging 1 cent for it. He said the online staples is different from the store. He was explianing a lot of BS about how the rebates work and that OM still gets paid by the rebate situation, Just a lot of bs coming out of his mouth. Didn't feel like talking to him any more and said bye. Anyone having any chance at the B&M?

Mine still shows $95.02. FWIW any PM I've done there has never resulted in a change on the order status page. It just shows up on your CC statement.

Local stores and PMing rebates all depends on the manager.

Stopped by 2 Staples and a BB while out doing errands, one of the Staples was willing to PM the IR but not the MIR, the other wouldn't even due the IR.

what I don't get is why they can't price match within they're own stickin company...I mean we got it from staples.com for .01, why can't the stores just pricematch that...seems sorta stupid to pricematch some other store/company, but not your own

In general, the B&M managers will lie their asses off and do anything they can to deny pricematches. There is no motivation for an online or phone call CSR to try and save the company money, because they are under no pressure to turn out sales and profit numbers. But the BEST thing you can do is call corporate after a bad run-in with a B&M manager or CSR and complain that you were treated poorly. I've had the most absurd pricematches approved after letting corporate know what an ass my local manager was to me. (Although I never lie about it, he always is an ass!)

Ditto. I've never had a PM show up on the order status page. So don't worry about that.

Just check your credit card statement later and make sure it shows up as a credit there.

Anybody have any news?

I called Staples.com and told the CSR the product #. She said that they're OOS, and that I should check a local store. I asked her if that means Staples.com and B&M *DO NOT* share the same inventory, and she said yes. So that blows.

I am thinking about calling up a Staples B&M, but I keep reading these posts on here about the lack of success at B&Ms. The managers are stingy or something, and make up diff excuses for not honoring both rebates.

Boo! Anybody have any news or advice?
