Why would they give you the after rebate price? PM policies never do that. I would think this is YMMV....?

I believe that you did it, definitely, but it is YMMV because the general PM policy is to PM BEFORE rebate price, unless the rebate is instant. Course I have not bothered to try it yet, but I'd give it a 5% chance of working.

No they PM after rebate prices if the rebates only apply to the other store. There have been a few HD deals that have done this in the last few weeks.

OK here's what I get from the staples lady (very friendly)... they match instant rebates and competitors rebates, but not manuf. rebates. I assume that the manuf. rebate is not restricted only to officemax. So I'm going to get it for 20-(10%of the difference)=20-4=16 and hopefully I'll get that $20 rebate still from K-byte.

I stand corrected, and the deal is even better than you said!

Edit: Actually the K-byte rebate is OfficeMax only, so I won't get that rebate at all. $23... hmmm...

Edit2: Turns out I was looking at the wrong item number.... the actual OM price was 39 minus two $10 rebates. So they only match that down to $30 and then since I can't get the $10 K-Byte rebate, this is a no-go. Definitely YMMV.

Edit3: Uy! Staples lady matched to a SDR chip So I'm back on the line try to get the 89-50-20-(10% of $70=$7) = $13 price.

actually, look at the manufacturer rebate - it has OM's name on it, so i think even that one is OM specific.

ok - it worked, but i got charged $8 shipping cause i didn't order over $50 worth of stuff... Throw in a cheap AR HDD or something and you're golden.

Bastards! Everyone I talk to examines the OM site to see which rebates are officemax and which are manuf. They won't PM the manuf price, so I get down to $13 . I already have an order outstanding today so shipping should be free as they will add it to that order.

LOL now that's hilarious. They said they couldn't PM the whole price, but they would xfer me to theCS so that they could put it through. Talked to that guy until he was about to put the order in, then was like "oh um did they tell you about the PM?" He said no and I told him it was OM, free after rebate. He put me on hold for 5 minutes while he looked it up, and came back and said they'd be able to do it. LOL Couldn't ship it out for free, though, so he put in a charge and a credit of $94 each. I'll have to keep an eye on that to be sure it goes through, but it looks like this will work. Outstanding deal
