Same thing happened to me. Which only means, we profit, the store profits, and Coca-Cola foots the bill.

Just used my first 2 coupons today. Went to Kroger through the self-check lane. The attendant came over to apply the coupon and only took of a single bottle. I pointed out that it was for 5 bottles, and he said "Five? Wow", but I had no problems getting him to take off the other 4. The whole Coke side was looking a little barren, so either Coke as a brand is doing real good, or lots of people got in on this promotion. I ended up with Fresca, Diet Coke w/ Splenda, Diet Black Cherry Vanilla Coke, Minute Maid Lemonade, Diet Cherry Coke, and Diet Sprite in various quantities. Thanks OP!

Used my first one last week in a Walmart self check out line. When an employee came over to look at my coupon and punch it in, she balked and asked "Five free cokes?" like she couldn't believe I could get five cokes for free. Took her 5-7 minutes talking to a manager/figuring out how to punch it in...but I got them.

Three cherry cokes, a nestea, and a barqs rootbeer. I'll probably pick up some minutemaid and more tea next time

Doesn't seem like Coke (all kinds) are selling well as our Weis Market in town has a lot of short-dated or outdated bottles (especially Lime Coke, Coke Zero, and even some of the regular Cokes).

Make sure you check the dates on the bottles before you buy them (and don't assume they're all good even if it's a well traveled store)

Got 5 more today, for 18 out of 47. They're trickling in slower than I won `em, seems like.

Give em a push. Some stores even have product request forms, otherwise go at a slow time and ask the manager.

I've received 4 of my 8 expected coupons so far.

Tried to use one today at ACME and the cashier and manager insisted there was a "maximum value" for the coupon, so I ended up paying $2 for 5 bottles. Still a good deal, but I will be trying Safeway or SuperG to see if I have better results.

BTW - Thanks OP!

doesn't say anywhere on the coupon it has a maximum value, and why should the store care ? they receive the money back + money for their time.

ANYONE ELSE HAVING A HELL OF A TIME TRYING TO USE THESE COUPONS?

I have received 3 of my 10 coupons and every time I have tried to use them, they are NEVER in the system. They always have to be manually deducted from the transaction. I tried 3 different supermarket chains.

Can anyone name a store/chain where these coupons are "IN THE SYSTEM" already?

never had a problem with walmart, they scanned it, worked out how much 5 bottles cost, and removed that amount

It is kind of odd that these coupons don't ring up correctly anywhere. Is that their way of trying to discourage us from using them?

From the rules of the contest link is here

This is at the end of number 9:
Coca-Cola Olympic Event Game Prizes: A coupon redeemable for five (5) 2 Liters of any Coca-Cola product. ARV: $7.45. Odds of winning an Coca-Cola Olympic Event Game prize are based on the random assignment of the Event and the probability that the 2006 U.S. Olympic team will medal in that Event. Limit: One (1) Coca-Cola Olympic Event Game Prize per code (regardless of the number of medals the United States wins in the designated Event).

So I guess there is a maximum that Coca Cola will pay. $7.45 or $1.49 a bottle. Your store must charge 1.89 a bottle if he hit you with 2.00 extra to pay for all five bottles.

It doesn't sound like a limit.

Plus the coupon doesn't say anything about a limit. It does say "We will reimburse you for the retail price of the specified product...". No wording like "up to $x.xx" or "maximum price of $x.xx". I would certainly challenge them on that. So far I haven't had any problems redeeming them (knock on wood). (Current coupon count 15 of 33 here for husband and self.)

I'd say "Please show me where this coupon says anything about a maximum value." When they admit the coupon says no such thing, but it's "understood" that there is a limit I'd say "Let's call corporate."

My wife has had to get letters from Walmart and Kmart HQ to fend off cashiers and managers who attempt to enforce wrongful policies. She carries them in her purse and shows them to whomever to shut them up on the spot.

A=actual

why would an amount like $7.45 be an approximation ? :moon:

In the beginning of number nine from my previous link shows:

Trip must be booked no later December 31, 2007. Approximate Retail Value ("ARV"): $30,000.

Because different stores charge different prices for two liters of coke. One store might have it on sale for 99 cents, while a party store might charge almost two bucks. Just because a value is precise ($7.45) doesn't mean it is not an appproximation.
