Success. I ordered online for instore pickup, in case they were out. I went to the CS desk in the morning to pickup and "inquire" about PMing the OM price. A nice lady conferred with the manager and said they cannot PM bestbuy.com purchases. "Isnt the bestbuy.com price the same as the store? hmm ok i'll just return it. OM is just 3 doors down." She told me not to worry and she would return it and do an instore purchase on it with the PM. Everything went fine. The rebate receipts printed and she didn't say anything. Handed me the receipts and told me to have a good day.

I have plenty of HDs, but I almost went back to get the WD 40GB 7200 for 99.99 - 40 MIR, then come back and PM to CC's 59.99 no rebate. They had at least 20 left, so tempting.

NOWHERE in Best Buy's low price guarantee does it mention prices AFTER a rebate. I had no problem picking up two sets of speakers. I'd definitely show a manager their own price guarantee and have him show you the "after rebate" loophole. Then, if he still didn't budge, I'd call district and regional managers. Grow a pair people and challenge them, politely.

Hmm, but I doubt it the manager would be willingly open to showing you their policy if they know they're wrong. Seems all the Best Buy reps start PMSing once they get caught in the corner.

but on the little black leaflet thing they gave me....they won't honor PM's on "special" deals and free items...they could say that

"Does not apply to special, bonus or free offers...For complete price guarantee details, please see a customer service representative. We reserve the right to limit quantities. See store for complete details."

they'd probably claim a MIR == special offer....plus, please see a CSR? pssssssh.

BTW, when I did the return and pricematch, she took the new rebates and trashed em. Best idea is to buy them 1st, put the rebate forms away, then go back for the pricematch. It's worth the wait.

I got screwed up at BB because they lowered the shelf price from 44.99 to 44.97 to have a reason to defeat the PM + MIR deal. I wanted to try the deal anyhow, even though I was a little wary of

in the PM policy. It was funny walking into the store though, because the BB I went to had 2 or 3 greeters to welcome you. I walked into the store and some guy to my left at a stand said "Hello", I said "Hello". I thought I was past that stuff, about 30 or 40 feet from the door now, and some other guy walked right behind me and said "Hello", I said "Uhh, hello". Then I started moving over to a little cart of z340s that I saw sitting out in the front and some other guy walked up to me and said "Hello", I said "Um, yeh, hello." And the only guy to follow up and say anything else was the third guy, lol. He tried pushing the z340s on me as if a $4.37 price tag wasn't enough . He mentioned the 44.97 price with a 20.00 MIR, so 24.97 for a 50 dollar pair of speakers, I thought - ah crap, they screwed with the price. I picked up a box and left the area to get that guy off my back, he wouldn't leave me alone, heh. I went over to the HDs for the 20 dollar 40 GB HD deal to check things out and think about what to do with the speakers. I decided to go for it anyhow, and if things got messy I could just return the speakers.

So I bought them and got the rebate at the register, dropped them and the rebate slips off at my van and then just came back in with the receipt only. Went to CS to try and PM em to the OM price, but that was a no go. The CSR said after the rebate, the BB was .02 cheaper. I argued a tad with her but got nowhere (this is my first time trying a B&M Hot Deal, second Hot Deal overall, gimme a break). I told the CSR that I didn't get the rebates, but that I would rather not mess around with MIR anyhow since they usually don't come through (just pulling stuff outta my arse - I have no idea ). She still said no. Gave up, went on to try the HD deal, but no go, they tried to scam me on that one by saying that it had a 30.00 extra MIR (that I later realized was actually expired). So I gave up for the day. I'm gonna try the PM again tomorrow though. What sort of luck/advice do you guys have as far as the BB 44.97 PM to OM 24.99 even though BB 44.97 - BB 20 MIR = 24.97, so that BB is cheaper in the end than OM? I'll try to argue that the policy doesn't say after rebates, but the special deals clause could trip me up. Can I PM over the phone perhaps? With a more general CSR that doesn't really know/care as much?

It's kinda tough for a manager NOT to show you the policy. It's a big 10'X10' sign on every store's walls.

OM ad does not say "special offer" . There is no bonus (example...free compact flash with purchase of camera) It's not a free offer (Example 3 months DirecTV service with purchase of a DirecTV system.) They can limit you to buying ONE at the pricematch. "See store for complete details".......10x10 sign in their store.

Maybe I don't have problems with these pricematches as the stores I go to are the ones I use to work at.

went to the same store, different rep. got it PM'd with 110%. =)

paid about $4.72 total.

44.97 - 19.98 (PM @ 24.99) - 2.00 (10% of 19.98) = 22.99 + tax = 24.71 - $20 MIR = $4.71 + postage = $5.08 total. =)

good stuff. my friend got the PM first, then i busted out w/ my receipt so the CSR had to PM mine too.

I got in on this deal, but I'm not that impressed with the speakers. Mind you, I'm not complaining (ok, I am), but all of the reviews seem to give this system a glowing report. But the satellites sound very tinny. The woofer, on the other hand, is very flat, especially for the money.

Worked for me at the BB in LIC, NYC. they had 2 on the shelf. Took the box straight to the CSR desk, PM'ed 110% and paid for it right there. She even stapled the rebate forms together for me. Total price after PM- $22.49 +tax. Rebate receipt is showing $24.35. What are the chances that BB will actually honor the $20 MIR on a $24.35 purchase?

No problems here: Walked into Best Buy... Grabbed one of the last two on the shelf... Checked out... Took them to my car... Went back in... Went to Customer Service desk... Asked for PM to OM... Showed them a printed out copy of the ad... CSR didn't even call to verify... Gave me the PM -- no questions asked!

$49.99 - $27.50 PM = $22.49 + tax = $23.78 - $20 MIR = $3.78 + $.37 stamp = $4.15 = Great deal! Thanks guys!

I would just send in the rebate receipt, mosttimes it doesn't really matter which one you send in....the receipt is just a proof of purchase, proofing you purchase the item, not how much you pay for the item.....thus the rebate receipt with the original price is ok...just my $0.02

Went to Office Max to pick up the sales flyer, then BB and got one from the shelf. The lady at CS said that her manager said "no" to all PM's with rebates. Talked with the manager and all she said was "either you get a rebate or a PM, but you can't get both". Why doesn't their policy say so then?
