11.03.08-Dash Navigation has pulled the plug on the Dash Express, ceding the hardware market to others. Instead, they will focus on licensing all that real time traffic data and the great deal of knowledge they've gained developing their network.

11.03.08-The December issue of Consumer Reports has new ratings for GPS units, including many newer models they haven't reviewed before. 49 models were tested; the top 14 are listed in the magazine. In any case, thanks for the thread op... I have been keeping my eye on the GPS units for a few months now. I wish more of the Nuvi's had multi-destination routing capabilities.

This makes even less sense now. The 750 is cheaper than the 260w. $399 compared to $373.25

The best GPS for the money right now is the nuvi 750, great price for what you get, much cheaper then the rest of the 700 line because it doesn't have bluetooth. The Nuvi 800 series are still way to overpriced.

Nuvi 760 for $349.99 at Costco.com. That's an even better deal (if you're a Costco member) and it runs through June 22. The 760 has bluetooth, more internal memory, faster processor and a two-tone case. The 750 lags (lags as in slow screen / map redrawing) when used with a MSN Direct receiver.

The 660 is ok, but since it's a discontinued model there won't be anymore updates for it. For $40 more the 760 is a much better deal since:

- it can store 10 routes (vs. 0 for the 660)

- it can sort multiple destinations to get you the most direct route to your final destination

- it's compatible with enhanced MSN Direct (the 660 doesn't work with MSN Direct at all)

- it has the "Where Am I" feature (shows you exactly where you are and the closest hospitals, police stations, gas stations, nearest intersection, etc.,)

- it has the car locator feature that saves the position it was in when it was last removed from the car cradle

- it has an option to change the on-screen keyboard layout

- it has a feature called "InstantFix II" that makes satellite signal acquisition almost instant

I have Nuvi 200. Screen is unreadble at sun and problem to place it on dash securely. What about other versions, how they good in sun and easy to attach?

A friend has the Nuvi 260W and I have a old Garmin Streetpilot C530 and it's always been readable in the sunlight for me, but I live in PA so of course the sun is never that intense.

Most of the Nuvi's have the same screen so if you don't like it, try re-positioning it or something, just go to their site and compare their features.
