Arcanum, FEAR, and Jade Empire are all games that I enjoyed. Arcanum's graphics are going to crap by today's standards, and the combat engine is meh at best, but I liked the story.

I have ordered multiple times as well and continue to do so.

However, about 4 years ago I ordered a DVD PC game for about $20 from them which would not install on any of my machines. The disc was defective, no question---it didn't appear used, it was brand new, just defective.

Despite repeated attempts to get satisfaction (multiple emails and one phone call) I received no refund or even an RMA number. I had to eat the $20.

So, am I still ordering from them? Yes, when their deals are good, they are good.

Just pray that you don't get a defective disc because they have ZERO customer service.

Never had a problem with GoGamer.com Placed about a dozen 48 hour orders too.

In reading some of those reseller reviews they sound like they come from angry 13 year olds who didn't get the game in 2 hours. One is complaining about a USPS shipping when anyone knows that its not a true tracking system like UPS. One is from an idiot who used an old credit card. They do seem to have an issue with responding to e-mails though.

Yep nothing but good experiences with Gogamer here. Their 48 hour madness specials are excellent, unfortunately they were a week late this time and BB got my money for Bioshock. The only thing I'd say to watch out for is sometimes they will sell the (I) or Import version. I don't think its been an issue for the games they've sold but its something to keep in mind in light of the Steam CD-Key blocks on Thai keys or whatever.

Stalker is already 20 bones at other retailers.

It's not surprising gogamer's reseller ratings are low. PC Games are one of those items that cannot be returned if opened.

Opinions on bioshock for pc? It looks interesting to me... but Im one of those guys that will only buy a singleplayer game if it promises to knock my socks off. I'm also one of those guys who is intrigued by the prospect of eating and/or flaying small children for powerups

Buy it. One of the best games ive played. Very good.

Anybody got suggestions on some other games ~$20?

LOL...I'd say it's a go based on those requirements. I've never had a problem with GoGamer either. 10+ orders.

Will I be able to run the game anywhere near the top vid settings?

GoGamer has always been great to me.

When they were the only one to get IL-2 1946, and I entered some incorrect billing info (the post office changed my zip code that week!) I spoke to the owner who was very helpful, and even went so far as to upgrade my shipping for free to ensure I got the sim at the same time as if I'd ordered the day before. After that I went back a few times, and have never been anything but satisfied. Most of the flight sim community use these guys and I haven't heard much issue there either.

That said, maybe it's jsut been good luck. . .some of the reviews at Resellerratings do indeed sound bad.

If you can compromise and run around 1024x768, you should be able to max out all the settings. Higher resolutions will be tough on your video card.

And yes, Bioshock is a MUST HAVE for all gamers.

Same here. Big YMMV. They have the best prices and selection for PC games of just about anywhere I've bought from (especially the 48hour Madness deals). Every order I've placed has shipped within a day or two, and has always been correct.

Edit: Those thinking of getting FEAR Gold might consider getting the platinum version if you want Perseus Mandate too. $26.90 vs ($12.90+$17.90) and you only get charged for shipping one game.

Same here, the Rise of Nations for like ~$5 shipped was a hell of a deal, still have not played it yet though.

Any coupons for GoGamer that might yield free shipping? I would not mind picking up Tales of Arcanum, the ex Fallout guys made it (and later made Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines).
