Thanks uwannawhat for the code!

I think the latest thread on this deal was locked because there were too many people asking for the 10% or 5%, and a few selling the codes.

sweet deal...too bad it's integrated NIC and sound. of course, you could always disable it and throw in your own stuff.

It has pretty nice built in ethernet in the Integrated Intel® PRO 10/100 Ethernet IN and the sound really suprised me on this unit, even if built in. May not be for the audiophile, but very nice nonetheless.

Good Luck today....and hopefully, no reason to lock this one like the one I started....

Integrated nic is fine, if you put your own in it wouldn't be any better, unless you had a pretty high end 3com or somesuch, and integraded audio is fine for average pc users.

i jumped in on the last deal, if not, i would definitely go for this one. BTW, the onboard NIC is working excellent for me! i wouldn't worry much about it.

but isn't $20 upgrade for a 5.1 live card better? most cheap cards run $20, so this is good i think.

Acctually someone posted that if you add the Live the system becomes cheaper... go figur.
I better stay away from dell's site, since I ordered another 2 on Fr.
Oh... and both orders shipped and one is already in town acording to UPS.

And why exactly is this too bad? I mean I can understand the sound posibly being a bit cut rate but a NIC? A NIC is a NIC. Does a 3com do a better job talking to your cable modem at 10mbps? I don't think so. Does a 3com do a better job talking over your Lan at 100mbps - I don't think so either. Blind contempt in reference to "integrated" items is simply a sign of misinformation...don't sweat it so much...

I dont understand this base price stuff. I configured the same system abd updatedthe price which says $849 with slash through it and under it 749. When i add to my cart it says 849-100 = 749 - 50 coupon =699 shipped. Where is everyone getting this base price and 100$ off from?

You want the base price to be $749-$100 = $649 - $50 = $599.

and besides, its an Intel NIC! Better than one that could actually be considered sub-standard like a linksys or dlink, tuilp or realtek.

I ordered a 4550 on Wednesday and now the same setup is $15 cheaper with the 15 inch LCD, but no rebate (only $85 more for LCD and don't have to wait 3 months for the rebate). The system has shipped but there's no shipping info yet. Can I cancel and reorder. What have others done in this circumstance. Can I refuse delivery?

Hi,

For the people who have gotten this already, is this a standard ATX case or some souped up version for dell to prevent upgradability ? Just curious. Same thing about the power supply ?

Will appreciate an answer.

Thanks.

it's not the standard atx case...it's a little smaller. and the dell power supply looks like it's atx, but it's not.

its a standard ATX case, any ATX board would fit in it, but why when its coming with a 2.4ghz? I got my wife a 4550 on the previous deal and she loves it!

edit: I opened up my wifes and looks like a standard ATX and power supply to me in mine.

«Can I cancel and reorder. »

If it's exactly the same system, you can call customer service and ask for a price adjustment. You have 30 days for your price adjustment and you can only do it once.
