seaning, rossman is correct. I ordered on the night of the 20th when the free lcd upgrade was supposed to expire. Later that night the deal was extended to the 23rd. Now the upgrade is gone. It seems that dell must be clearing out the 151 monitor. Perhaps, there were running out of monitors. I would love to know how many of these systems and lcd monitors they have sold with this deal in the last few weeks.

If you didn't need the extra hard disk space, hope you went for the 30GB instead of the 40GB. The 30GB is the better Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 8 with Fluid Dynamic Bearings, while the 40GB is the Maxtor DiamondMax D740X with the standard ball bearings. Not sure about the larger sizes.

Why not go for the 40x12x40 CD-RW drive? If you were going to add a CD-RW drive, this will save you some money by getting it free when you order it. Dell has the black Lite-ON 16X DVD-ROMs for $40 at the home section (- %15 = $34, no tax).

$609 is a warm price, but I doubt you could get a comparable system elsewhere for that cheap.

I wanted to replace the 92mm fan with a Zalman Z2 with a fan-mate 1. The Dell case fan is a ltlle louder than I like (I already replaced the hard drives with Seagate 80gb's). Anyway -- the motherboard is very sensitive. I can only get it to work with the OEM Fan.

My old Dell 4400 had no issue with the Zalman -- this one does.....

Anyway to cut off the fan monitoring or to make a quiet fan be detected??

(My computer is in a wood computer cabinet in a room with wood floors -- sound really echo's)

My Dell has been "InProduction" since 10/22...

If I click on the link under the Order Number, the detailed list of components is interesting..
Some of the items have "TIED" after them. the ones that have that is the memory, keyboard, hdd, WinXP Home, etc.. Anyone know what that means? I also see it after the integrated ADI 1885 audio, but not afther the integrated Intel NIC, so it shouldn't correlate to product availability..

My last 2 systems were at the start of "In Production" since Monday morning. Finally today they are in Build status.

I did get 3 systems yesterday, 2 via Airborne Express and 1 via USPS.

The pinout on the 20 pin ATX connector is tweaked from the standard layout. I looked inside the one I'm keeping last night and verified it. Also, the 48x24x48 CD-RW is not a Lite-On like I expected. It's some other brand and it doesn't look rebadged. The Ti4200 Dell shipped in mine is a MSI MS-8870 with a normal sized heatsink + fan and 4ns memory. The case is awesome too, totally screwless.
