How good are the Hitachi drives? I had a salesman at Fry's tell me not to get them. He said they bought out the old IBM factory, and the drives just don't last. I kinda ignored him, figured he wanted to sell me a higher price drive. Anyone know about the quality of these?

LOL, it drives me crazy when these sales people make this stuff up, a little truth mixed with BS. Yes, Hitachi bought IBM's hard drive division, back in June of 2002. Since then they have built a large hard drive plant in China here I have bought several Hitachi 3.5" hard drives over the last couple years from Fry's when they do the rebates, and they are running fine. In fact during this last sale with a rebate on this identical deal back in July, I bought 2 of the 160GB SATA drives and put them into a mirrored RAID in one of my computers. It's running just fine.
