ya...im going to see how my 580 handles 1440p but seeing how it's the 1.5gig I have a feeling i'll be looking at 680's.....i wanted to hold out for the 700 series....

No, you'd actually need DisplayPort or Dual-Link DVI to get full resolution. You only have HDMI and VGA, so you'll be limited to 1080p via a digital connection. I believe VGA would work at the full resolution, but it wouldn't look that good.

No need to spend $200 for that purpose. I'd look at something like the HD7750 for $85: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814161403

It's compact and will definitely work with your system.
