sprint reception is usually great for me. If sprint goes out of range it roams on the verizon network. In fact I read on othe rforums that you can set your phone to always roam and at no charge for sero customers.

I wouldn't do that, Sprint has cancelled customers that roam more than 50% of their minutes,,,

I searched about that as well, since my girlfriend (who just joined SERO) has coverage issue with Sprint's native network. She has to roam at her home in order to receive the reception. So, I did research what we should do (Cancel when we can, or just set it Roam only mode), and we decided to stick with Roam Only mode after searching the web.

Even if Sprint decides to cancel the service, they actually mail you a letter indicating the cancellation, give about a month to look for new service & port number, and waive ETF since they cancel the service, not customer. Most of case, they don't require you to return the handset either if reasonable period of time has passed after sign-up. So, it's like "nothing to lose, why don't you try?" Only bad thing is that you cannot enjoy SERO, but no additional penalty/fee to pay.

What's the deal with the sprint employee e-mail. Can we just use savings@sprintemi.com? It appears from some previous posts that people are having trouble. Did most of you guys with SERO get it through that e-mail or another one?

Thanks!

i too am wondering about the email, among other things. i was hoping someone who signed up recently could verify whether or not text messaging comes for free. are the data services (what are these?) still free as well?

when i input "savings@sprintemi.com" to view the phones and plans, text messaging is an option for $10/mo. with this next to it: "Included for FREE when you sign up by 2/16/08". yet on another page, i see this: "* Unlimited text messaging included with all plans through 4/19/08".

also, is there an email address which has been recently confirmed as working?

thanks.

EDIT: i must also sheepishly ask if there is a difference between the options presented to you on the plan page, or is it just a form error? this is what i see:

# Unlimited Nights & Weekends starting at 7pm! - $0.00
# Unlimited Nights & Weekends starting at 7pm! - $0.00

I signed up on 11/30/07.
Very good deal.
But today it got a 100 times better.
I just got a check for 1900.00 dollars from sprint and haven't got a clue what it's for. All I was expecting was a 100 dollar rebate check.

All that was attached was a "Thank you for being a valuable customer" on the stub. And no way am I calling up to ask.

So far I love the SERO plan.

And I thought my $300 rebate check was good (expected $100). Just deposit it earlier today.

So you're saying, use an email from the bottom of one of those press releases?

sorry im a bit slow, and there are way too many posts to look through. How did you get the rebate? why were you expecting $100? just from a MIR on your phone choice? Let me know, I'm looking into getting the SERO plan this weekend.

They get their rebate checks from the phoen choices. For some reason sprint has been sending extra money to random people. Watch out though I have read that sprint sometimes calls the money back.
also don't use the savings email again. Just go to a sprint store or search for a sprint addres on google.

Mine came from a mail in rebate on the phone. They actually put the rebate form in the phone's box.
I also used the vice president of marketings email address.
Found it by searching.

Well I signed up yesterday for SERO, I used an email from a sprint press release and it seems to be working. we'll see.

I picked the $30 plan with the M520 Samsung. So cost me $110 out of pocket with a $50 MIR. We'll see if everything works how it should.

So I just got an email from sprint saying:

"To complete your order, we will need to gather additional information from you. Please call our Sprint Support Team toll free at 1-866-860-6241 at your earliest convenience. We are prepared to offer you additional savings through a $25 invoice credit if you call us to complete your order within the next 5 calendar days (based on the sent date on this email). If we do not hear back from you within the next 5 days, your order will be automatically cancelled."

Anyone know what this is about?

Yes you can tether through Sprint serivce or get PDA net 1.80 not 4.0 as that is the palm operating system.

when you get an email from sprint telling you to call them just call back with the email address and everything will be fine.

Does anyone know if there is a way to get in on a different SERO plan once you've chosen one? I have an older one but mine does not include free text (had to add it for $5).

Ah it was no problem. They needed to verify that it was me. (i had recently paid off an old balance that went past due).

So after that, the shipped my phone. Got it yesterday and my plan says its a SERO plan. everything seems to be fine.

ATT is shady in my area, but I want to see how sprint would do.

Can I try sprint for 30 days for sprint sero? How difficult is this? How hard is it to return the phone? What out of pocket expenses I would pay?

Also, if I decide to keep the phone, could I port my number like 20 days after I sign up with sprint?

Sprint has a 30 day return policy, no questions asked. out of pocket expenses could be 0 if you use the right discounts and phones. Yes you can port your number after 20 days. Just make sure you talk to the porting department not some CS rep. They are pretty worthless.

So it looks like I'll jump on this deal soon. What phone do you all recommend? I'd like to have a smart phone with all the bells and whistles- Web, TV, tether, gps (google maps?), IM, email, etc. The data is what makes this worth it, so I want it all. Next, battery life is important. If I have to worry about my charge before I get home from work, I don't want it. A couple days charge would be great.

Right now, I'm thinking either Pearl, Moto Q9c (love the WM6), and Centro.

What do you guys recommend?
